House On The Hill - Heathcote Getaway

The House On The Hill is a beautiful 5 bedroom home on 40 acres accommodating up to 12 people (2 King Bedrooms opening up to outside with their own sliding doors to the country, 2 Queen Bedrooms and 1 Bedroom with 4 single beds) with 2 bathrooms and 3 toilets.

We are very flexible with arrival time this can be anytime for check in on the day of your arrival and with departure flexible depending on if booking next day. If booking following day in busy period checkout would be 10.00 am. However if no booking following day can stay until 3.00 pm to make the most of your House on the Hill experience.

The property has spectacular views overlooking Mt Camel and located very close to wineries in the area and is 19 km’s from the town of Heathcote. Heathcote is a town in central Victoria, Australia, situated on the Northern Highway 110 kilometres north of Melbourne and 40 kilometres south-east of Bendigo via the McIvor Highway.

This property is set on 40 acres, with beautiful mountain views and sunsets with salt water swimming pool and BBQ area to enjoy. Great house to escape to from the city and enjoy as a family, group of friends, winery weekend or golf weekend.

This property is regularly used as a family holiday house so has all creature comforts.

Our property has been used for special events such as small wedding ceremonies however if you are interested in this sort of stay there is additional fee of $2,000 on top of stay due to extra cleaning, rubbish removal, window cleaning. We are open to helping you celebrate your special day however there needs to be such a surcharge due to the extra expenses involved.

Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Put key back in lock box at gate for e try and next to front door at house.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Ensure all dishes are loaded in dishwasher (no need to empty dishwasher) and food emptied from fridge
Please close all windows, doors, turn off lights, heating, air-conditioning and candles. Do not move furniture or change sound SONOS system.
Please take all food to garbage bin located out of property red bin and recycle accordingly in tubs on deck

Our host was beyond lovely and had so many recommendations for what to do in the area. The photos do not show just how fantastic this house is. The living areas are huge and everything you could ever need in the kitchen. Outdoor areas were a fantastic place to spend warm evenings soaking up the views.

A fantastic property! Plenty of space with a huge living area and undercover areas next to the pool. The outdoor fireplace is a favourite for the adults once the kids are in bed. We love staying here!!

Love this property! Second time staying at “House on the hill” and just love the house, the surrounding landscape, the privacy, the friendly horses and the ease of arrival and departure. My entire group who stayed could not speak more highly of the property… highly recommended!

Amazing place!

Second time staying at House on the Hill and I couldn’t fault it once again! The place is incredible and great for the whole family! Great location being close by to Mt Ida Lookout and wineries. Karen is an amazing host, very helpful and understanding. No doubt we will definitely be back again!

Absolutely amazing getaway

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The photos don't fully capture how great this house is - it is very well equipped for both kids and adults and very spacious. The breathtaking views and stunning sunsets are an absolute bonus. Oh and the kids enjoyed feeding the horses too! Would definitely stay here again!

Fantastic property

We had a wonderful time celebrating our Mum's 70th at this property with family. It was immaculately clean, hugely spacious and had everything you could possibly need for a great weekend away. The kids loved the pool, horses and huge lounge room. Great all round!

We thoroughly enjoyed our second stay at House on the Hill and everything was terrific a second time around. Karen is a generous and responsive host and the property is fantastic for a large family group of all ages - absolutely huge lounge room, well equipped kitchen, big bedrooms and a swimming pool. This place has everything a big extended family could need with lots of space for getting together and enjoying a meal. The pool was an added bonus.

We bought the land as is and over the period of 4 years my husband who is a builder painstakingly built the property over the weekends and commuting from Melbourne each weekend. We also had to put in power, septic tanks and various exacavating of driveways.

Why they chose this property

The view was the most amazing sight with views of the mountains - Mt Camel. We love the peaceful location and seeing the change of weather from where the house located seeing the beautiful sunrises, storms and sunsets.
