Why they chose this property

We are making our treasured piece of Hawaiian paradise available for people outside of our family for the very first time. Because it has never been rented, this is not your average vacation rental, but far more special, beloved and rare. The house is a spectacular example of old Hawaii but with all the modern luxuries of a newer property and every aspect of the airy house, lush gardens and gorgeous grounds have been carefully chosen, planted and cared for by us—from the flowering plumeria trees to the stunning wood furniture handmade by a local artisan in Koa and Mango wood, to the four poster Mango wood bed. We fell in love with this property for the charm and character of the house but also for the palm-ringed pool, the giant lawn perfect for intergenerational games of tag, and the secluded stretch of sand and coral beach complete with some of the best tide-pooling and snorkeling that the Big Island has to offer. Not only is our home beautiful and unique, but it’s also a lovingly-cared for and imbued with so much joy. We are thrilled to share it with people who will enjoy it as much as we do

What makes this property unique

One of the rare Puako properties that offers both a pool and ocean frontage - and, ocean frontage that is far wider than most. As a long time Puako resident, this home's location, located near popular Paniau (pronounced "Pah nee ow"), and the beach trail to Mauna Lani resort, is still incredibly private, at the end of Pauko drive, and boasts an extensive reef system and some of Puako's best swimming holes right outside your door, that could not be found with in other properties. We were delighted when the opportunity presented itself to become the home's new owners and stewards.
