Had to go to the Cape for work, so decided to make an off-season weekend out of it. Traveled with 3 adults, two teens and our small dog. The Sailboat Suite was very spacious and lots of great character. Positive reviews all around from our group. We enjoyed checking out the local places - Park view diner, Marc Anthony’s, Glen cove restaurant, Nana's ice cream, Ryan’s amusements, basketball courts, the beach, and took a drive to the Sandwich boardwalk. It was nice that it was dog friendly too, our guy loved all the walks. The location was excellent, the back door of the house is directly across from the park and beach. The beach is very large, though the water is calm since it's a bay. I imagine it would be good for families with younger children in the summer. Only negative was the thin ceilings, could hear the 2nd floor tenants above us. Some slight upgrades to the suite in the future would be nice but again we enjoyed the charm of this historic home. Thank you!
This is a really lovely spot, spacious common area (kitchen & living room), and nice bedrooms with comfortable beds, and a fabulous location across from the beach. We were in town for a wedding & rented two units in the building for extended family, which worked out really well. Everything was as pictured; note is that one bedroom is only accessed through the bathroom or another bedroom, but that was not a problem for us. The host was easy to communicate with and very responsive to questions before during & after. Highly recommend and would be happy to stay again!
We enjoyed our stay in Onset very much! The first floor unit was spacious with two outdoor areas which we enjoyed very much. On site parking and parking passes were a huge plus. The location to the beach and town couldn’t be beat. We only used our car once in four days. The area is great for walking, dining, hanging by the beach or any type of water sports. We had a wonderful trip and made lasting memories!
Great spot for girls weekend. Beautiful sunrise views, a walk across the street to the beach and dock and sunset views. Nice kitchen, comfortable beds, easy to get to Rte 6
My 3 sisters and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Carolyn’s place. It’s spacious and so conveniently located right across from beautiful Onset Beach. We had a two hour delay getting in to the house, so Carolyn graciously offered to extend our check out time by 2 hours. We loved the village of Onset and enjoyed the local restaurants. Overall, a wonderful experience!
Wonderful stay with family and friends.
Plenty of room to gather and relax.
Large kitchen with many appliances!
Deck was very cozy and comfortable.
Great location too!
We were thrilled with our visit to Onset Beach. The house was delightfully pure New England, quaint, well appointed and in a marvelous area. Private and away from the chaos of the larger beach areas. Ample space for privacy yet enough family space for gathering. I hope to visit in warmer weather to take full advantage of all it has to offer thank you for sharing this property with us.
Had a perfect stay in the Sailor Suite over the holiday weekend. Came to town with 4 teenagers (a tough crowd) for a wedding and we were all very pleasantly surprised by the accommodations. So much space, huge kitchen, clean and comfortable. My bed was super comfortable, dare i say better than my own at home. Nice area of town, very walkable. Wished we could have stayed longer to explore. Would definitely book again. Thanks for neimg a great host, very responsive!
Everything was wonderful! Location, community, property and host. However, walls are thin, neighbors next to you and above you will hear everything..
Otherwise, excellent!

So sorry about that! There were especially noisy neighbors during your stay unfortunately- usually it's not an issue however another guest in a neighboring suite brought an infant when that isn't allowed.
Property is dated, but clean and functional. Great location. Three bedrooms but only one bathroom was challenging at times. Host was very easy to work with. Would highly recomend this unit to others.

It's a turn of the century victorian house that's been renovated. All amenities and furniture, flooring, etc are all new.
We had a lovely stay at this VRBO property. The home was very clean upon our arrival & nicely decorated, which made it a pleasant place to be. It was also in a great location, with an easy walk to the beach, outdoor concerts, restaurants, and the pier. The hosts were incredibly responsive and helpful whenever we had a question or a need. We were also very pleased with the thoughtful amenities they provided, such as shampoo & conditioner, soap, paper goods, coffee, and even some spices. They also had beach chairs and towels, which was a huge plus. The kitchen was also very well-equipped with everything we needed. The only significant issues we experienced were with the temperature and the noise from the upstairs neighbors. We visited during a heat wave, and unfortunately, the a/c units in the bedrooms were not able to keep the house cool enough to be comfortable, especially since there were no units in the main living area. Additionally, we were bothered by the upstairs neighbors running around late at night. We reached out to the owners, and they were very responsive and contacted the neighbors about it. On a minor note, the large bathroom had a surprisingly tiny shower, which felt like a missed opportunity given the amount of space. We would highly recommend that the hosts consider adding fans, particularly in the living room, to help with air circulation and cooling. Despite these issues, we appreciated the hosts' communication and the cleanliness of the property.
Check-in/out was very easy. Very much appreciated that the host had many items in the house for use to utilize. A few things that I would say need improved upon is updating to central air. It was a hot and humid weekend and that window units barely cooled down the condo. Second on the listing page it said the house had a grill, something of which it did not. Along with where the grill was supposed to be there was a table and chairs but we couldn’t use them since the cousins were moldy. It was partially my fault because I thought I remembered seeing two bathrooms but there was only one. Lastly curb appeal is everything. We loved how beachy it was and the decorations were a perfect fit for the house. We also liked having the chairs outside on the larger part of the deck to relax at night, only thing that would have made it better is if I didn’t have to see tall weeds in all of the seashells. The location was perfect. Loved that it was so close to the beach and Main Street of town.

It was an unusually weekend that this guest stayed, normally the window units are sufficient. We took the outdoor grill off the listing due to fire code requirements. Lastly we have someone who is supposed to be weeding often so there shouldn't have been any weeds around outside but will check on that!
From this location we could have a peaceful relaxing beach day in a small town, venture to Provincetown, Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard & Providence, RI on a rainy day.
This property was spacious and lovely and right across from the beach! The bay water was perfect and clean for our little one and restaurants and stores were right around the corner. Wonderful stay!
There is so much room in this apartment! The location was perfect - walking distance to everything. We would love to go back on season when more restaurants/shops would be open and we could enjoy the beach as well.

About the host
Hosted by Carolyn Dunlavy
I grew up in the area and love the beach. My husband and I also run a company (MemoryCo) that helps seniors stay engaged and entertained while in Assisted living/Memory Care.
Why they chose this property
This property was built circa 1890 as a Victorian Sea Captain's house. Later, after the turn of the century it was turned into a hotel known as the Marcy House, and later, The Prospect Inn. During the 1920's the property was known for having a 'speak easy' during times of prohibition. There is a lot of history and a lot of great energy on the property. The location is also prime, because it is steps to the beach and steps to many of the great restaurants in Onset. The apartments are very open and can comfortably a large family. The kitchens are well stocked with pots, pans, cooking utensils, etc.
What makes this property unique
We are uniquely situated in a perfect spot- steps from Onset and Shell Point beaches, steps from Marc Anthony's famous pizza, and right across the street from a fantastic breakfast diner. Within very close walking distance you will also find a local market/liquor store, post office, spa, salon, multiple beautiful parks, playgrounds, tennis courts, local bars, and nice waterfront dining options. We are also very close to the boat rental/kayak rental area. You could spend a week in Onset and not need to drive at all!
