Beautiful Ski Hill 1 BR Condo

Beautiful Condo below Fernie ski hill. Located on the 3rd floor, it is an 8 min walk to the ski hill base, or a 1 min drive. You can ski down to the condo complex at the end of the day.
The unit can sleep 4 comfortably with the queen bed in the bedroom and a Murphy bed in the dining area, and a family of up to 6 with the use of the 1 or 2 sofa beds. There are several summer & winter amenities surrounding the complex. Awesome views. Great spot for year round activities. Downhill skiing, Cross country skiing, hiking, mountain biking, tennis, rafting, fishing, golf and the list goes on and on. BBQ, ski lockers, hot tub, games room, laundry. Also a short walk to hillside restaurants and convenience store, or a 10 min drive into the town of Fernie. We have other HomeAway/VRBO properties that we have been managing very successfully, but this is a new one we have decided to list for our family.We look forward to hosting your mountain getaway, so give us a try. You won't be disappointed !

The condo worked well for us and Jeff provided all the detailed information we needed. New snow arrived at the same time we did and we had a very enjoyable stay. I had to wax our skis while we were there and the tuning bench in the basement was an excellent feature!

We had never been to Fernie before and stayed here while exploring the town and mountain biking for the weekend. While the condo kitchen was adequately furnished and the main bed was comfy enough, know that the pull out is terribly uncomfortable, unless you like the feeling of springs and no support. Our teenage son actually chose to just put it away and sleep on the couch instead. The condo is also a bit dated and hot tub is small and shared by many, but it basically served our needs fine.

Can’t believe this listing had 4/5 stars.. I will mostly warn you about this host & this listing

Fernie alpine resort has multiple buildings . This listing is probably the oldest and least kept condo. Our friends who booked their condo directly through the resort were staying in Aspen lodge and the contrast was unbelievable! This building has no elevator, the unit has no A/C (not a problem in winter but big deal in summer). Broken tiles along the baseboards, kitchen drawers that are falling apart , bathroom tub with disgusting shower curtain , hand grip in the tub falling apart, no spare toilet paper, pull-out couch mattress that has no structural integrity, old dark carpets & lighting, the list goes on & on. The host has not been in this unit for a very long time and his cleaning team is certainly not keeping his place up. He even sent me instructions for using fireplace for heating rather than thermostat!! Heating in August ??? We walked into the unit and the thermostat was reading 32.9 degrees Celsius! I took pictures of everything so there is no room for doubt and sent them to the host and got little to no response. DO NOT rent this unit. You best go to Fernie Alpine resort site and rent directly from them if you want to stay on this property in Fernie.

Very comfortable condo unit in a quiet building with shared outdoor hot tub. Easy to get to the mountain for biking, and a quick trip to town for more bike trails and food. Everyone very friendly!

Cozy Fernie condo

This is a spacious and well-appointed condo on a top floor of a large but quiet building, a 10-minute (or less) walk to the ski area base. The bedroom has a king bed which made for comfy sleeping; since it was spring I slept with the window open so I could hear the CP freight train whistles from the valley. The living/dining area is large and well-furnished: 2 couches as well as comfy chairs. The kitchen is fully equiped as well. Windows are huge with spectacular views. It's on the top floor, I didn't look for an elevator. Ski storage lockers are large and there is a nice workbench with wax irons. Add in spring powder, a hip and friendly town and you have a perfect stay.

Nice property. Our adult son stayed with us and appreciated sleeping on a Murphy bed rather than a less-comfortable pull-out couch. The window provided lots of light and nice views. The kitchen was well-stocked. The property was about 500-700m from the hill but one could ski back. The owner communicated well.

Liz and Steve Wenzel have owned this condo for 25 years. They bought this property after skiing in Fernie since the mid 70's. Since Liz doesn't ski quite as much as she used to, our family decided that it would be great to share this beautiful spot with other travellers.

Why they chose this property

It is a great little condo that is meticulously taken care of. It was renovated nicely about 6 years ago, highlighted by inlayed stone and real hickory 1" thick baseboards, giving it a real "Fernie" mountain feel.
Great access to the hill, a quick drive into the cute town, and amazing views from the 3rd floor.

What makes this property unique

There is a 12 man hot tub and 2 large gas BBQ's located on the main floors.
