This cottage is adorable. Attention to detail is evident everywhere. Updated appliances & TV, plus lovely antiques & personal touches throughout. Inside & outside spaces designed for comfort and convenience. Anything you could need is provided and then some—from coffee & seasonings down to the homemade muffins & Smores kit! We loved Birdie’s Place! The only thing we missed was our king size bed.
What a beautiful little home Birdies place is! So clean and comfy. The owners are super nice and the area is very pretty. Loved seeing the longhorns! Definitely plan on coming back.
This historic home is very warm and inviting. There are little stories and scenes to explore in every room. The home away from hime provides all of your needs. The hosts are wonderful and understanding even if contacted late in the evening. I definitely would stay here again.
By far the best VRBO. I have lost count how many times we have stayed at Birdies! Its' perfect. Plopped right next to the longhorns, donkeys, rabbits and deer, it was peaceful and perfect! The cottage has everything we needed. Ray and Debby are the most amazing hosts and so responsive to any requests. Such a beautiful time of year to visit! Can't wait to visit again! Thank you for sharing your sweet cottage with us! Brad and Cherie
This is my second stay at Birdies and I just love it! The hosts go out of their way with small details you might never think of elsewhere. The hummingbirds were dove on bing this trip on the porches at the feeders at there were various birds at the seed feeders, beautifully colored. A Nice rabbit visits in the evening. The house is just perfect for a small family, girls getaway or refresh for any couple. Lots of little shops to visit in town and the breeze on the porches are perfect for coffee and a book or dining. Weekend in the fall always have something going on in the town. This is a beauty you don’t want to miss! .
My wife and I are retired and wanted a two bedroom house near Tyler to enjoy the spring flowers in the area and to do some easy walks. (Tyler State Park). This place fit the and had all the amenities we needed.
We brought our own DVD's. The big flat screen TV and effective window shades made our movie binging satisfying. However the sofa was low slung and was a challenge for us oldies to get out of. For those who like to stream videos, the capabilities are there.
The beds were good, and the quiet and darkend windows made for a good night's repose and/or for sleeping late .
If you like cutesy country decor and spice scents, this is the place for you, although those features were not our preference.
The best feature was the helpful and accommodating owner.
Birdies Place' Is charming, relaxing, cozy, comfortable, clean, safe, welcoming.. Debbie and Ray surly know about hospitality, with all the personnel touches in the home, from the things to make s'mores to the apple tarts that was left for us to enjoy.. The cottage is decorated with so many treasures, ( I will not spoil it, you will have to see for your self.) it is stocked with all the ammenities of home. I don't think there was one thing missing that would be needed for cooking. The beds were dreamy!!! We didn't even sit inside we spent all our time on the porch's. The Long Horns were a treat to watch, they all gathered at the fence ( maybe because we was keeping them up late) made us feel like we was really away from the City. You will not regret booking a stay at the cottage .. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer . We will be back for sure.
What a cozy stay for my mom and I. There were so many extra touches from blankets, puzzles, snacks, and toiletries that made our stay that much nicer. It was beautifully decorated with a sweet theme and its history displayed. The owners were great communicators with good suggestions. We enjoyed it and would stay again. Thank you!
From the moment we drove in the driveway, we knew this enchanting cottage was going to be special. Every detail, inside and out, exceeded our expectations. The cottage was pristine clean, and provided us a place that felt safe and secure. Everything we needed was available. Fresh muffins and s’mores fixings were available, as was a basket of snacks. The refrigerator was stocked with bottled water, which we appreciated very much. Every question was answered quickly. I highly recommend this property. While it is in a country setting, complete with longhorn cattle next door, a great selection of local restaurants and shops are a mere 6 -10 minutes away. We came in town for Trade Days in Canton, which was an easy 30 minute drive.Regardless of what brings you to the Tyler area, you will not be disappointed by “Birdie’s Place.”
This cottage is THE best VRBO we have ever stayed in! The cottage has everything you need, including visits from the cows and donkeys!! It’s a perfect location. It’s comfortable and truly a slice of heaven on earth! Our hosts were amazing! Great communication and a text away if you need anything. We will definitely be back! Thank you for another great stay!
Ray and Debbie provide such a relaxing home and atmosphere! The little touches they add are so nice to “come home to”. Beautiful sunsets and lots of birds to properly call it “Birdies Place”.
Birdie's is a quiet, comfortable home that was located conveniently close to I-20. It was a wonderful place to take a rest during our long road trip. For anyone planning on going to the First Monday flea market in Canton, TX, Birdie's is a short drive from there. Most places closer to Canton are very, very rustic and only have a mini-frig. Birdie's has a full size refrigerator. Somehow Ray knew he had special guests staying because he had home delicious cookies and cupcakes waiting for us to sample. We highly recommend a stay at Birdie's.
We stayed here for a Canton weekend getaway. This place is just as described...picture perfect. There are amazing touches everywhere from smores ingredients to snacks and fresh blueberry muffins waiting for our arrival. It is the best stocked house I've ever stayed at...there was germ-x, extra toilet paper/paper towels, all kinds of sweeteners for coffee and even a first aid kit to have on hand if needed. We had a small issue with the GPS telling us the wrong way to go. We were trying to find the house rather late. I called the host, and he answered on the second ring around 9 pm. He had us directed to the property correctly, and we arrived within minutes. I can't tell you how relieved we were to have such great hosts who live nearby. We loved the decor...my friend is even planning to update her living room with "Birdie touches". I can't wait to come back...definitely want to see the Christmas decorations. Don't hesitate to book this place. Also, be sure to visit the Collins Street Bakery up in Lindale...we stopped there twice for cookies and turnovers on the way to the craft shows.
