Situated on the north coast of Pernambuco, at Atapuz beach, with natural protection of the islands of Itapessoca and Itamaracá.
Atapuz is a homonymous beach and town located between Santa Cruz Canal and Itapessoca Island, in the municipality of Goiana, Pernambuco. With a narrow strip of sand, the beach is widely used for water sports, as well as a large area of mangroves.
The beachfront is facing Itapessoca Island and is 8 kilometers long, and is very popular for fishing and sea walks. Coconut palms, undergrowth and fruit trees are also part of the local landscape. It is also common on the beach to find Manatees, as the beach is only a few kilometers from the Manatee Project, which is in the municipality of Itamaracá, across the channel.
Atapuz Beach is 65 km from Pernambuco Capital, Brazilian Venice, Recife.
