The space
Spend the first part of the evening outdoors on the patio for drinks as you watch the sky change colors and the spectacular foliage sway in the famous trade winds. Recently upgraded and fully furnished throughout, this one bedroom home includes a beautifully appointed kitchen with new appliances, including stove, refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave. HANALEI, Hawaiʻi – The Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation (HDOT) notifies highway users of a full nightly closure of Kūhiō Highway (Route 560) between Hanalei Plantation Road and
Ohiki Road beginning Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2024, for the Hanalei Bridge Repair project. After the initial week, closures will continue nightly on a Sunday-through-Thursday schedule from 11 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. the following day.

Things to Do:

Princeville has lots of activities to enjoy! This luxurious getaway is the only condo that has a paved path down to Hideaways Beach. But please use caution- as it can be a steep climb down to the beach for some folks! You’re only a few minute's walk from Hideaways Pub where you can grab a bite of lunch or have a brew. Golfers are only a mile away from the start of the Makai Course while spa enthusiasts are also only a mile from the spa and dining at the Princeville Resort. Take a day to head into Hanalei where the Bay is a magnificent beach, the town has lots of shopping and dining options, and the four-mile drive down is as majestic as the destination. If you are looking for daytime activities, head a few miles south on Kuhio Highway to the Princeville Ranch where you can schedule horseback rides, ATV excursions, and even go zip-lining!

This Kauai home has a portable A/C located in the master bedroom for those warmer days, so you’ll always be perfectly comfortable whether you’re relaxing and watching TV or checking to see which restaurants have the best reviews on Yelp.

Bait-and-switch (blamed it on a gecko)

We were thrilled for our stay; we'd booked this condo nearby the rest of our party, just a short 1-minute walk from our event which we were in Hawaii to attend each day. Unfortunately, the first night in the property, our power went out. The rest of the condo complex all had power; we verified that fact with our neighbors. We were moved to another property a 10-minute drive away, which made it impossible to orchestrate our plans. Unfortunately, the property manager didn't return us back to the original condo until after the rest of our party returned to the mainland. It was very disappointing. Once we finally did return to the original condo, the internet wasn't working, and despite repeated outreach to the property manager, the internet never worked. Frustrated, we checked out of the condo a full day early, and checked into a hotel where at least there was working internet and air conditioning. The property manager said they'd give us a partial refund... which they flatly refused once we returned home. It was truly a disappointment. Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere. There are hundreds of other condos on the island; stay at one of those instead. PS: When asked why we were displaced for nearly a week, the property manager said a gecko took out the electricity in our unit. Pretty powerful gecko, right? ;)

Nice Place... Would Recommend

This a nice condo in great area. Overall we had an excellent stay. Comm's with the property manager are outstanding. The condo itself is fine as we are mostly on the move anyways. It is very well equipped with chairs, umbrellas, etc. The kitchen has everything you need. The location overrides a few issues and we have no problem recommending it. It's on the first floor and you will hear any work and people moving about upstairs, including cleaning. We were there last year... a few things still haven't been fixed... notably the exhaust fan over the stove. If you're not cooking a lot this isn't important. Furniture is adequate, but is old (probably original) and needs to be updated for the price point. We'd love to come back again... will be watching to see if any updates and fixes get corrected in the description.

Not the Peaceful Stay we were expecting

The location of the property is excellent and the views from the unit of the ocean are stunning. Everything was exactly as it was portrayed on line, with the exception of the electric grill on the patio, that was covered with mold and would not heat enough to cook anything. We had planned on grilling and had shopped accordingly. Although the setting is beautiful an serene, we had a family above our unit with 3 boys the entire time. Jumping up and down, yelling and screaming at times and playing hide and seek. The structure is not at all sound-proof. Keep in mind this is a ground floor unit. I tried knocking on the door of the unit above us and no one would answer it. I tried calling Plushy Host, who manages the property and was told they did not manage the property above me and that there was really nothing they could do. If you luck out and have good neighbors above you, it could be a memorable stay. If you are unlucky like we were, it could be as miserable as it was for us. We will never stay on a ground floor unit again.

The most delightful surprise for us was the view of Nāpali Coast from the backyard! Our typical day was to hike/tour/go to a beach then come home to our Vrbo and relax with hot tub time and a swim. Then we would head to the corner of the property with the chairs you provided and watch sunset. There’s a nice community feel at that time. If we were hungry and lazy we just went to the pizza place through the parking lot. Great location, well supplied, clean and comfortable! Thank you for sharing your place with us!
