Could be so much better.
12 family members were in Southern California for a wedding, coming from 3 different states. We were a little surprised to find the house in the condition it was when we arrived, so I wanted to send Chatney a message a let her know of the issues and a chance to correct some things before her next guests arrived. She has yet to respond. I know the price point of the area and the house is spot on if everything works as it should. I see in past reviews guests mentioned that the AC wasn’t working properly, it still isn’t. The upstairs, which was most important to us worked great, but strangely the downstairs never got below 78° & the vents had minimal airflow. Secondly the water heater needs replaced, we didn’t have a single hot shower and by that I mean it was lukewarm at best, regardless of when we took the shower. All of the air beds have leaks, only one was able to maintain air for approximately 4 hours before needing to be aired up again. The home is advertised for 12 guests, yet we only received 11 towels. Please add more silverware, 3 spoons for 12 guests doesn’t work, there should be a minimum of 12 place settings. More seating, such as another couch would be helpful, for a home for 12 guests. The condition of the laminate flooring is unacceptable and for walking barefoot a hazard for toes, especially near the kitchen. Lastly and I’m not trying to be rude here, but they need to fire their cleaning person, we were charged additional money for cleaning, for a home that doesn't appear to be cleaned very often. There was cleaner residual running down the mirrors, especially in the downstairs half bath, we noticed the bottoms of our feet and hands and knees of my 1 year old nephew were black for the dirty floors, we had to mop the entire downstairs twice to get it fairly clean. I’m sorry for such a long message, but these are important things that should be taken care of long before renting out to guests, and frankly I’ve stayed in home at much lower price points in far better condition. Please address these issues for your next guests." We do not recommend this property. While I admit we could have called her on a few of these issues, most need several days of work to take care of. A guest also should to need to call to have a house cleaned, have the proper amount of kitchen utensils or a safe, clean floor to walk on.
