Enjoy and explore the Caribbean and its reef in this seclusive beachfront hideaway, located in the sleepy fishing village of Xcalak, far away from the hustle and bustle of the Mexican resort towns. Xcalak is a pristine destination for reef diving and fly-fishing since it is home to an enormous variety of marine life.
Caribbean Casa Blanca is a newly refurbished three story, beachfront villa, bordering the Xcalak National Reef Park. Xcalak´s tallest rooftop terrace offers spectacular views of the Caribbean Sea and surrounding lagoons. Your hosts, Elena and Lachy, from Cuba are both marine scientists, experienced and passionate divers; they will be happy to share their broad knowledge with you and to assist in anything you need. Lachy is also a great cook so if you do not feel like cooking yourself or venturing out, check menu options.
This second story apartment is perfect for families, couples or group of friends up to 4 people. The two rooms have a king size bed, A/C and fan, and a closet, and share a bathroom. The kitchen-living room is very spacious and tastefully furnished. The Kitchen is fully equipped among with a gas stove, a fridge with freezer compartment, microwave, coffee maker, water heater and blender. The living room has cozy sofas, A/C, a flat screen with SKY TV and a sound bar to play your favorite music. For your convenience, there is free Wifi and also a safe to store your passport and other personal belongings.
Get together with your friends or family in your private indoor or outdoor dining area and savor homemade stone oven pizzas, fresh ceviches or a yummy seafood grill plate, overlooking the Caribbean Sea and the nearby reef. Sip on an authentic Cuban Mojito or Margarita, while sunbathing or gazing at the starry night sky on our rooftop patio!
Get active playing beach volleyball, beach soccer or “boccia” with your family or friends under coconut palms on our huge beach backyard or kayak out to the coral reef just offshore for some snorkeling! Choose from a variety of board games or just relax with a good book in your hammock!
We are also happy to arrange diving or snorkeling trips to the local reef (the Mesoamerican Reef the second largest in the world!), fishing excursions as well as tours to mangroves and nearby lagoons where you can spot manatees and crocs.
Things to keep in mind: In Xcalak there is still no phone signal and second-class busses are only running twice a day between Chetumal and Xcalak.
