About this property

Hill Country Riverfront Ranch, sleeps up to 20

KING RIVER RANCH is a breathtakingly beautiful 25-acre ranch, perched peacefully on the magnificent rocky banks of the great Pedernales River. An easy 20-minute drive to Fredericksburg, we offer spacious accommodations, luxurious and well-appointed interiors, panoramic Hill Country vistas, expansive horse pastures with friendly animals, 1/4 mile of private riverfront with excellent fishing and immense stone terrace, and a Tom Sawyer'esque fishing pond. The ranch is perfectly located in the heart of a vibrant wine culture and neighbors the renowned Lyndon B. Johnson Ranch a.k.a. the Texas White House.

Family Weekend
The property was great and perfect for our family vacation. The kids enjoyed interacting with the animals and exploring the river bed. The location is close enough to Fredericksburg without being in the city. However, there was no spa/whirlpool, no satellite/cable, and no ice maker available as stated on the VRBO listing. Also, there was no wi-fi in the suite.

Best family ESCAPE ever!
This property exceeded our expectation! The pictures do not do this beautiful ranch sprawl justice. There was so much we could do on the property that we almost didn't go to the various sightseeing places nearby. There were 10 of us and this property accommodated our group more than nicely. We had teenagers and young adult children in our group (16, 17, 18, 19, 27, 27). THEY LOVED IT!! We were pleasantly surprised to see they were uninterested in all their personal technology and while the house had a large screen TV and WiFi, we barely used it! For us, this was EXACTLY what we wanted. In addition, this was suppose to be a "float the river" kind of trip but COVID-19 restrictions were reinstated the same weekend we arrived in the area. HOWEVER, because there is a river on the property, we were still able to "float the river" albeit a little different type experience. It was better because we had the river all to ourselves! Much to our surprise, we didn't know that the property is actually a beautiful wedding venue. There is an extraordinary platform just down from the house and about halfway to the river where the wedding ceremonies are held. One evening at dusk, my husband lit the candle lanterns that are part of the platform without my knowledge. He called me to come meet him and when I arrived our favorite song was playing on his bluetooth speaker while the candlelight and sunset created the most incredible ambiance!! OMG!! We slow danced to a couple of songs and then called the rest of our family to join us. Their reaction was priceless! THANK YOU KRR!! This was definitely one of the BEST family vacations EVER! God bless Texas, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. Steve & Renee Friendswood, TX
