Dirty and Disappointed
I traveled to LA for the Cruel World concert with my two best gals. We arrived Saturday evening ready for relaxation and sanctuary - and upon entering the unit we were greeted with a musty smoke smell. The walls were scuffed and covered with scotch tape looking as if someone had hung party signs and then just left the tape. The floors were dusty and sticky with the occasional silverfish in the kitchen and living space, and stained in the bathrooms. The showers were grimy and had used bottles of soap and shampoo in them. I looked for cleaning supplies to wipe off the counters and all that was available was a used sponge and dish soap. The bedsheets all had questionable hair and stains in them, and one of the beds had eyelash extensions in them. I messaged the owner and let her know we were very uncomfortable with the state of the unit and she agreed to send over cleaning crew the next day. We debated going to a hotel that night - but nothing was available and we stayed. Early the next day I ordered cleaning supplies from Instacart and tackled the kitchen and bathrooms. I messaged the owner and let her know we would still like fresh linens and a deep clean of the bathrooms and floors, she responded promptly and agreed. Thankfully we were gone all day on Sunday for the concert. When we returned back that evening there were fresh linens and cleaner floors. Takeaway - the owner advertises that this is a clean updated unit and even charged us a $75 "cleaning fee" upon booking. I spent $55 on my own cleaning supplies and had to clean myself and then request additional cleaning just to feel comfortable. We learned a lot from this experience and made the most of our time together. The concert was epic!
