NOTE: There are 1800 plus square feet to call home plus a large deck for your escape. The large great room opens into the dining room and kitchen with many windows to allow for great views of the outdoors. The primary bedroom is in the loft with a queen bed and full-size futon. There is a star gazing window over the queen bed in the loft which is very relaxing before you retire at night. The large main floor bedroom has a queen bed. There is a queen and full size sleeper couch in great room. There is a full bath on each floor. The laundry room with washer and dryer is on main floor for your use. A TV with ROKU in the great room allows you to enjoy your favorite shows during your down time.
Arrowhead Ranch is a wonderful area and part of the San Juan Mountains. The turn off to Arrowhead is half way between Gunnison and Montrose on Highway 50. You will have access to multiple day trips including: Ouray, Telluride, Lake City, Ridgeway, Silverton, Wine country and orchards toward Palisade, Black Canyon, Marrow Boat Tours in the canyon and Blue Mesa Lake. One of our favorite spots is Big Blue Campground south of Arrowhead, this location has a great campground with beaver ponds and the Big Blue River for fishing. Arrowhead is a great location for those interested in hiking, biking, four-wheeling, fishing, watching wildlife and relaxing!
The A-frame will give you all you need to unwind and recharge. The large deck allows you to enjoy the beautiful relaxing outdoors. Many sightings of wildlife are possible if you are quiet! We enjoy the deer most every morning and evening as we watch out the dining room windows. Early in the summer we often watch the baby fawns follow their mothers as they walk by the cabin. They are often playful and fun to watch. At certain times of the year you can see elk but you can always hear them in the fall. Many birds from turkeys to grouse visit along with the humming birds. Occasionally a snow shoe rabbit or red fox with slip by. Rarely we see a bear.
Views on the deck are great down the valley. You can also relax and enjoy a good book on the quiet deck. Grill that perfect steak with your favorite wine on the deck for a perfect evening after a fun filled day! Sunsets on the deck following dinner are the best. Smores over the fire pit are also a good way to spend your evening relaxing after a full day of the outdoors. We enjoy the Arrowhead Mountain Lodge for the outdoor entertainment they have most weekends and the restaurant which is very good. If you are a fisherman there are lakes available to Arrowhead residents to fish without a license. Hazel Lake is just across the road from the cabin and a great hike. This is another great spot to enjoy the wildlife. You can safely hike or bike the many miles of roads around Arrowhead and there are several trails available.
This get-away from "life" is the best way to recharge with the fresh mountain air. We enjoy the spring each year but fall is special with all the wonderful colors! Come and Enjoy!

We had a wonderful time here. Very nice place to stay, very quiet and comfortable . Had the lodge to go eat, (very good food )seen deer and fox. Only thing is if you are wanting to rent ohv the place is closed and might open next year. Had a nice drive and seen elk. Went fishing in the pond, caught a trout.
Best supplied, best equipped VRBO we’ve booked and it lived up to its description. The host was very accommodating. We enjoyed ourselves and would book it again.
We had a place down by Westcliffe and thought it was quiet, but this was by far quieter.
Great stay, saw a bear cub-mother had to be close-and many deer, one who likes to stay under the deck.
Beautiful area!
My family and I are impressed by this amazing secluded cabin. This cabin has views and privacy. We enjoyed our time here! The property manager was quick to respond to all of my questions and the check-in process was convenient through VRBO.

Thanks for enjoying our little corner of the world!
Location was beautiful, though not close to town, the drive to the cabin was scenic. The area has so much to offer with hikes and fishing and any water activity you desire. The cabin was so quiet and completely equipped with everything you would need and extremely comfortable and beautiful! We loved the open kitchen and living and the deck was fabulous! We will return!!

So glad you enjoyed this quiet hideaway! You will be welcome back any time!
This property served as an excellent home base for all the activities we enjoy. The house itself was quiet and sat back away from others. The Malone's had it well stocked with everything we needed or forgot! We took advantage of the grill to cook up fresh catches of Kokonee from the Blue Mesa. We spent hours on the covered swing watching mule deer, humming birds and listening to the elk in the valley. Thanks much for sharing your place.

So glad you could enjoy our secret place! Come again sometime!
Wooded wonderland. This cabin is about 25 minutes off of the paved road. The views along that 6 miles of road were spectacular. We visited the nearby lodge for dinner and the host even told us about a concert at the lodge on our first night. The host communicated that they were having some deck work completed and made sure that it would not interfere with our plans. (It ended up not happening while we were there, happy bonus). We did get a chance to communicate one other time when the pilot light went out in the gas stove. After a Google search we were able to sort it out. The host was quick to respond even though it was early in the morning. The cabin was spotless even to my picky standards. The linens were all set up in both full baths. It was easy to find extra bedding for the chilly nights. The bathrooms also contained lots of extra shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and such. They had hair dryers and straighteners in both bathrooms. The water pressure in the upstairs shower is amazing. I need that at my house. Facial tissue was also provided and appreciated. The kitchen is well stocked with equipment. (couldn't find the bottle opener) My husband and I enjoyed going for walks around the neighborhood. You really could not see or hear anyone else while outside unless you really tried. The wildlife was a hoot. I cannot recommend this property or this host enough. Do not hesitate. If it is your dream to stay in a cabin on a mountain top, book this place.
We had a wonderful time at the cabin. It had everything we needed and communication with the owner was great!. The location, the wildlife, the peace and quiet was amazing!
Though the decor is rather 70ish, it was a great cabin! Listening to the quaking aspens, seeing wildlife and window over the bed to watch the stars all made for a great week. Highway 50 construction was a little rough as it dictated our daily plans, so I would suggest checking on that.
The cabin was everything we were looking for and more. There was an abundance of wildlife in the area which we appreciated and the house was super clean. Will definitely be looking to rent again!
This cabin is extremely relaxing and the surrounding forest is so beautiful! Lots to do but your schedule will be dictated by the US50 closures so be aware of that. The decks are spacious and we enjoyed so much wildlife...we stayed 3 days....one day on the Blue Lake reservoir, one day at the Black Canyon of the Gunnison NP and the last day we stayed in the cabin...cooked, drank, played games with our boys and lounged on the deck...the last was my favorite! I would stay here again!
The cabin was beautiful and has everything that you need for example, plenty of kitchen supplies and a oven and grill. The "neighborhood" has a small town feel when you go to the little store and restaurant, but you feel like you are living in the forest and secluded when you are around the property. We saw many deer from the cabin and we even saw a fawn with her mom once while looking out of the kitchen window. My kids loved walking to the small lake that was within walking distance from the cabin. If you love the outdoors and cooler weather, this it the place to stay! We had a very small issue come up, which was due to our fault of being from AZ and not knowing how the heating system worked and we notified the owner in the evening and she had someone come over right away and fix it. The lady and her husband that came and helped us were so sweet! We had an amazing time!
We had a wonderful time. We sat on the porch in the aspens and
Watched deer and elk walk by. The house was stocked with everything we could possibly need And the lodge had great food also. We will definitely be staying here again.
This property is stepping back in time to the 1980’s very cozy and offers anything a group would need for a vacation. Please note; Cell service is sketchy at times, and Master Bedroom Queen mattress needs replaced one can feel coil springs in mattress.

Relax & revive in this breathtaking mountain getaway!
We have been vacationing in CO for the last 3 years and this has by far been our most favorite place/area we have stayed. The A frame cabin is absolutely adorable and located in the most relaxing and breathtaking aspen forest. We enjoyed watching all the wildlife around the property (deer, grouse, hummingbirds, elk, birds). There are 3 ponds located in the area that are included and come with a guest pass to fish. We fished every day there for trout. Evergreen Lake is a scenic masterpiece especially first thing in the morning! One of the best things about the cabin is the deck where we had our coffee in the morning and drinks in the evening. You’re a good 40 min from Montrose and Gunnison so make sure to bring your own food to cook in the fully equipped kitchen! Highly recommend a guided fishing trip on the Blue Mesa Reservoir, visiting Silverjack Reservoir, hiking nearby trails, and trying out the whiskey distillery in Montrose! Teresa was an amazing host and was so helpful with any questions we had. Literally the ONLY downfall of the cabin was the mattress we didn’t sleep good on it because it was worn & bought our own pillows but that’s it everything else was perfect! We are definitely coming back here next year if not sooner! Thank you Teresa!!

Thanks so much. We will have a new mattress when you visit again!
Easy to get to, but far enough out there. The community restaurant/lodge is also a really nice bonus as well and everyone there is so nice and helpful. I hope to visit this place again soon.

We have loved Colorado since we were first married. During our College years we started backpacking in areas around Arrowhead and fell in love with the area. As we matured through life we decided sleeping on the ground was not as enjoyable as it once was!! We thought a place in the mountains would be great. We were so lucky to find this little treasure in the Rocky Mountains. We and our now Adult kids with our grandkids do very much enjoy the area as often as we can.
With todays worries it is great to be able to escape to this gem in the mountains to relax and recharge.
Why they chose this property
We love the remote natural alpine area know as Arrowhead Ranch. This is a very unique area without the stress from city life.
What makes this property unique
We enjoy all the wildlife and many birds in this area of the Rocky Mountains.
