About this property

180 Feet of Private and Pristine Lakefront in the Adirondacks

Relax and enjoy our lovely vacation cottage, set directly on beautiful Hunt Lake in a private community nestled in the Adirondack Park. Located on a private dead end road with very little traffic, this lakefront property is 25 minutes to Saratoga Springs and its renown Racetracks, and only 30 minutes to Lake George Village and the Queensbury Shopping outlets. The lakefront cottage comes with the use of a double ocean kayak (great for swimming and diving off of), a single kayak, canoe, rowboat for fishing, and an antique pontoon paddle boat for two. There are 2 adult bikes on the property, and for an extra charge we may be able to furnish a tandem bicycle and/or 2 stand up paddle boards. Enjoy spectacular sunsets sitting in Adirondack chairs on our 80' dock. This is a private lake with no public access, and the 180' of shallow shoreline is ideal for young children to play safely for hours! Lake is stocked with trout each year, and is the ideal spot for catching a variety of fish. We are 1 mile to Ledge Rock Hill Winery which offers delightful tours, and 10 minutes to Bend of the River and Brookhaven Golf Courses. Available Memorial Day - Columbus Day. Sleeps 6 adults comfortably.

Tranquility, nature with all the conforts of home
The place was immaculately clean. Accomidations provided by the host exceeded our expectations. Beautiful patio overlooking the lake where all meals, games & reading were enjoyed. Property was open & well enough away from the woods as few mosquitos were seen. Brought my in-laws in thier 80's who had no issues with access to the yard, parking or walking the stable deck available on the lake to sit & admire the view. Steps on the deck leading to the water easily allowed my 81 year old Mother access to get in the canoe for a 2 hour ride around the lake. Everything within 15 minite drive. Grocery store, golf, mini-put, small town resturants, Lake George outlet's...only wish the water was deeper to dive off the deck.😁 but bottom was soft enough to walk into the water.

Fabulous place to stay
I can’t say enough good things about this property. John and Cindy were very helpful and considerate hosts. The house is spacious, comfortable, well-equipped and modern but with character. The screened porch overlooking the lake was a highlight; we ate our meals there and watched the occasional thunderstorms from its shelter. We also enjoyed using the gas grill to cook fresh local produce. The location near Corinth was convenient, too: it’s a short drive to get groceries or other supplies and yet as soon as we started climbing the hill toward the lake, we were “away from it all.” And then there’s the lake: quiet, calm, clean and a very pleasing temperature — cool enough to be refreshing on hot sunny days but not too cold for cooler or cloudy days. The dock makes it easy to get in to the shallow water to begin a swim or a paddle. We loved the double ocean kayak, so stable and easy to paddle, and it works for one or two people, as the mood strikes. It’s a private lake with houses on the eastern and southern shores, so the house is not totally isolated. Other people can be seen and heard as they, too, enjoy the lake. Yet the house feels very private. We enjoyed several swims and kayak trips every day, and spent happy hours sitting on the dock watching the changing colors and moods of the lake. We spotted a great variety of birds on the water and land and were serenaded daily by the resident song sparrow. All in all, a perfect lakeside retreat!

Peace and quiet
Need a place to unwind. This is it. Beautiful small lake to enjoy....whether to canoe or kayak or fish. A leisure walk around some of the lake or to state at the star filled sky at night next to a camp fire.....cannot go wrong at lake Hunt!!! Try it....!!!

Beautiful view on private lake
We had a lovely relaxing week at this lake house. Besides being in a beautiful setting, the house is incredibly well appointed. Family members came up for one night, and Cindy was very accommodating. Cindy and John were very easy to communicate with and they have provided lots of things to do, indoors and out. I highly recommend this home for a low-key getaway.

About the host

This property was purchased in 2020 as our future retirement home. Because the former owners had set the property up as a seasonal rental, we decided to make some improvements and continue to offer it as a rental AND use it ourselves when it it available. My husband and I are a little fussy about where we will stay when we travel - so we have set this up to meet our standards. First and foremost - CLEAN -after that well equipped, a cute cottage feel, homey, and comfortable! Hunt Lake is a magical place, and we can't wait to make this our permanent home!

Why they chose this property

If you are looking for peace and serenity, all while having the entire Adirondacks at your fingertips, this is the place! This is not a rental neighborhood, so here you will be left alone, or you can strike up a conversation with the friendly locals as you walk along the road morning or night. People here are proud of their pristine surroundings, and we hope you will only rent if you are looking to enjoy everything lake life has to offer, all while leaving it as clean and quiet as you found it.

What makes this property unique

This property is unique because it is easy to access on a paved road, can easily park 3 vehicles (max for rental, please) but it feels very private! We own the property across the street, and the lot to the left is completely wooded. Neighbors on the right are friendly, but appreciate considerate renters.
