I can’t say enough good things about this property. John and Cindy were very helpful and considerate hosts.
The house is spacious, comfortable, well-equipped and modern but with character. The screened porch overlooking the lake was a highlight; we ate our meals there and watched the occasional thunderstorms from its shelter. We also enjoyed using the gas grill to cook fresh local produce.
The location near Corinth was convenient, too: it’s a short drive to get groceries or other supplies and yet as soon as we started climbing the hill toward the lake, we were “away from it all.”
And then there’s the lake: quiet, calm, clean and a very pleasing temperature — cool enough to be refreshing on hot sunny days but not too cold for cooler or cloudy days. The dock makes it easy to get in to the shallow water to begin a swim or a paddle. We loved the double ocean kayak, so stable and easy to paddle, and it works for one or two people, as the mood strikes.
It’s a private lake with houses on the eastern and southern shores, so the house is not totally isolated. Other people can be seen and heard as they, too, enjoy the lake. Yet the house feels very private.
We enjoyed several swims and kayak trips every day, and spent happy hours sitting on the dock watching the changing colors and moods of the lake. We spotted a great variety of birds on the water and land and were serenaded daily by the resident song sparrow.
All in all, a perfect lakeside retreat!
