About the Space:
Step into a piece of history, where the charm of the past meets the comfort of modern amenities. Our cozy cabin is split into two sections, connected by a charming enclosed breezeway. One side preserves the rustic charm of the original log cabin, while the other features a modern addition with a fully updated kitchen, outfitted with state-of-the-art appliances, making home-cooked meals a delight.
Relax in the living room/library by one of the two gas fireplaces, the perfect spot to curl up with a book from our extensive collection of nature and wildlife literature. The original hardwood floors bring warmth and character to the space, while the newly installed central heating and cooling system ensures your comfort year-round. Whether you're here for a special occasion or just looking for a quiet retreat, this cabin will create memories that last a lifetime.
Sleeping Arrangements:
Main bedroom: Queen-size bed with its own private bathroom featuring a bathtub for a relaxing soak.
Second bedroom (upstairs): Full-size bed with a cozy, treehouse feel that’s perfect for children or an additional couple.
Full Size Pull out Couch Bed located in the Center of the Cabin.
Important Note: In keeping with the idea of truly disconnecting, we do not offer Wi-Fi at the cabin, and cell service can be limited. Major networks like Verizon and AT&T generally have good coverage, but other providers like T-Mobile and Metro might struggle in the area. We recommend guests check their service provider’s coverage in the Cadiz region before arrival. Embrace this opportunity to unplug, relax, and reconnect with nature.

3 friends hunting in quota hunt at LBL. Cabin was perfect for what we needed. Very quiet and plenty of dvd’s for watching movies. We will come back next year if still available.
Property was described perfect but was even better! Decor was wonderful with peace and quiet with 100’s of books to read and movies to watch. His art pictures were beautiful. Capt Roy was a great host and a now new friend.
It was a cabin home we would want for ourselves. It was very nostalgic for both my husband and I. It was far enough away that you could hear nothing, but close enough to get to what we needed. Thank you for letting us into your beautiful home. You can tell there is love that was put into that home!
My best friend and I had such a perfect stay at this cabin. Relaxed , shopping, visited the local towns even went to Nashville for the day. We used nearly every room in the house including the front porch. It was clean, warm and roomy.. Captain Roy thank you for checking in to see if we needed anything. Loved the experience!
If you are wanting to explore the Land Between The Lakes this is a great pick. The cabin is right next to the bridge on the Lake Barkley side giving you easy access to the region. The property was just as described and the host has an extensive movie collection to choose from and also plenty of magazines, books, and games. We really felt like we were away because there is no wi-fi and we weren't getting any cell service either with our T-Mobile phones. This can be a plus or a minus depending on your needs, but we took it as a positive. Given the opportunity we would definitely go back.
It was very quiet. I think the cleaning lady, Rebekah, doesn't do her job. We had dirty dishes that were left for us to clean before we could use them. There was coffee left in pot with mold floating on top. Also, the sheets and pillowcases on the bed downstairs were all balled up and left on bed. We didn't know if the people before us took sheets off and left them or if they were washed and left for us to make the bed? Besides that it was very nice!
Lots of room and a big kitchen. We wished the freezer wasn't full, so we could put our food in there, which we did but had to remove some TV dinners.
When we arrived the host was airing the house out. The smell of mold was overwhelming. The musty smell is unhealthy. The house was filthy with ants on the kitchen counter near the sink. Very disgusting! The refrigerator was dirty with food in it including a full freezer. There were 3 trash bags full of empty recycling containers. I could not even sit down. We left within 10 minutes of arriving. I did not get my money’s worth. This property should be removed from VRBO RENTALS
House was pretty cool. Lots of stuff though so wasn’t sure about that-old food stuff-I had though i read there was internet in the listing bit may have read that wrong, it didn’t take away from the stay though!!
This is definitely rustic but very comfortable. If you want to disconnect from a busy lifestyle, this is for you. My granddaughters were very impressed by the books in the library, until they saw the DVD collection. Kept them entertained in the time they spent with us. Roy was a good host and provided for our needs. Would highly recommend this place.

Convenient, cozy and comfortable
The kitchen is well equipped. Many cozy spots to relax, read, write, . . . throughout the cabin. Convenient to National and State Resort Parks in the area and about 1 hour from Paducah. Our stay was comfortable. The add on Vrbo said there was wifi. There was no wifi, no cell service, no land line, so we were cut off from being able to communicate without going to a resort park facility or down the road toward Cadiz 5 miles. The faucet to the sink in master bath leaked into the cabinet below. The tension rod for the shower had no tension.
Wonderful owner, great communication, great price!

Pleasant an relaxing
The house/cabin was very homey an welcoming. I would not call it a fancy hotel. It was as clean as my house. Which could use a good dusting We never got instructions on how to get in. My daughter found the keys luckily. The description lists WIfi, however there is none. Not a deal breaker since my husband's Verizon work phone hot spot worked well enough for me to work some in the morning. The AC worked very well which August in KY is a must. The outside wasn't real well kept but the dry summer led to leaves falling early an it was too hot to be outside any way. Close to LBL(bison Prarie is a must see)
Not as close to Hopkinsville as we'd liked since that's where all our family is. We would stay again if this was available.
The check in process was easy and Rebecca had the house ready early for us to check in. The neighborhood was quiet and the neighbors were friendly. Rebecca answered all of our questions about things to do with our family and places to eat in the area. It was a nice quiet place to relax and unwind and enjoy the outdoors.
We booked the cabin for the week of Thanksgiving 2021. We were pleasantly pleased. (The first few reviews were clearly wrong.) The cabin was clean. (I'm à cleaning lady.)
We loved the feeling of stepping back in time...this place has so much history.
You will have everything you need. No WiFi...no problem...so nice to unplug! (Our phones worked fine.)
Rebecca was the perfect host & Captain Roy was only à call away.
Our favorite was enjoying the Library/family room...its cozy fireplace...and a game of cribbage or sequence.(We brought.) We had family over for dinner...the house was filled with good smells & family!
It is what you make it....
(Even the neighbors roosters & his chicks who came to visit were part if what made our stay perfect!) So if you are a city slicker...this place is not for you. But if you are a writer...an outdoors person (Land Between The Lakes)is nearby.)..if you just want to kick back and relax....this is your place!
Thanks Roy & Rebecca!

The cabin met all expectations as listed on VRBO. Capt. Roy met us personally at the cabin to check us in and give us a tour of the cabin and explain everything. Nice personal touch. He also provided tourist brochures for the area and since he knew from our previous communication that I liked history, he had special history brochures. The cabin had ample space for relaxing and was within a few miles of the "land between the lakes" park. Only suggestion we have would be to have internet service at the cabin. Most [people today use the internet almost daily. Bottom line, we recommend this cabin as a reasonably priced vacation spot for anyone travelling to this area.
