About this property

The Muir - Exclusive Ensuite, Garden View

The restful Muir, features a king-size bed, with pillow-top mattress, desk, sitting space, and garden views to the west and north. Our 2nd largest king room is decorated in light green, and taupe an homage celebrating natural beauty, in the area, and the world at large. The spacious bathroom has a comfortable traditional tub/shower. Remember to bring your salts, and bubbles if planning a hot soak on your visit.
The Oliver Phelps house was built in 1813 and expanded in 1830. An example of Greek revival architecture, it retains lovely features for today’s guests: twelve-foot ceilings, wide plank floors, blown glass window panes, old-growth trees on the grounds, and the spaciousness of a great Federal period home.

Experience Canandaigua from one of five comfortably appointed and spacious guest rooms, all with private en-suite baths, several with fireplaces. Our home is tastefully furnished with period antiques, but updated for all modern conveniences, including WiFi and central air conditioning. Awake to a delicious three course gourmet breakfast served with local juices, coffee, or tea.

Start by exploring our website for the array of choices that will make your vacation in the Finger Lakes memorable. And please contact us – we'll be happy to help with your planning.

Our stay was excellent!
Everything! The location was ideal. You were within walking distance of downtown and its varied shops and food venues. The B and B itself was clean, accommodating and historic. Our innkeeper, Karin, was absolutely fabulous!!! She was very engaging with all the guests. Breakfast was excellent. We agree that this was probably the best B and B experience we have had, and there have been many. Would recommend, hands down.

This inviting, comfortable inn was everything we imagined a New England bed & breakfast to be..
This historic inn is beautifully decorated and each room has its own charm. It is conveniently located on Main Street near restaurants and the lake. The best feature is the friendly and generous host and her delicious three-course breakfasts.

Birthday getaway to enjoy wine tour
My husband and I decided to celebrate his birthday with a trip to Canandaigua for a wine tour. We invited our daughter and a friend to join us. Our room was comfortable, light, warm and charming at Oliver Phelps. Karin was extremely helpful in many ways. She suggested alternative options for our daughter's stay as Karin only had one room available at the time of my call. She was able to accommodate dietary issues for myself and my daughter. And she sent many recommendations for the area.

I am fortunate to have a plethora of lovely friends with diverse appetites from around the planet, and it has been my honor to learn the many styles of breakfasts from them. Over the years they have been my taste kitchen as I honed my skills with: Gluten -Free, Pescatarian, Vegetarian, Pork-free, Carnivore, Sugar free, Vegan, Flexible Vegan (Vegan-ish :), Full on Gourmet (food snob), farm – to – table, and of course local and Organic.

For you I will create a meal that is sumptuous, healthy, farm-to table, and organic when possible. Expect a 3-course breakfast that fulfills your needs for something you might not make yourself–but are sure glad I’m making it for you! I come from a large family and know how to fill you up with the right kind of energy for you to enjoy either an active day, or simply a stroll around town! Breakfast is served with fresh brewed local organic coffee, juice and water. A large variety of tea selections are also available.
