I have spent many holidays changing, improving, upgrading, expanding and making it more enjoyable to visit and relax here!
Over time I've listened to feedback about other ways to make it even more enjoyable for family & guests - to the point now - where guests can arrive with eskies of cold food etc, boxes & bags of other food and their luggage - walk in, choose a bed and come back out on any of the decks/verandahs and take in the view with a nice cold drink to enjoy as they wind down!

Why they chose this property
BIRDWATCHING!
Being 150m off the road, and 20m above the road, you can enjoy water or mountain views, without feeling like you are being watched yourself!
You can watch the native birds come and feed on provided seed or on the many natives that have been planted to encourage their return and survival long term.
Many small logs have been prepared and installed to make nesting safe and local - for birdwatchers who don't/can't or would rather not trek endless miles through rugged bush to see them in their natural environment.
We are installing graded walking paths for guests with limited mobility to be able to access areas close by - but still feel like they are miles away in the bush.
FISHING
Rodds Harbour is quite unique as it has no coastal bar to navigate to open water!
Unlike 1770 and other local fishing bases - it has 24/7 deepwater access to creeks, mangroves, Bustard Head near Pancake Creek, Rock Cod Shoals and the Great Barrier Reef.
And being set well back with good turning areas out back, you can return unload the fish and your eskies at the end of the day - but not have to dismantle electronics and rods and tackle boxes etc - they can stay in the boat ready to go again tomorrow without rerigging!
There is a 15' x 2.5' Filleting table with tap etc - to make cleaning and preparing your catch for freezing and taking home or just ready for dinner that night! There is a 700l chest freezer as well as upright freezer/s to store all your catch &/or bait for taking it home in ideal conditions!

What makes this property unique
Large airy deck and verandahs welcome you home every day and give you clean fresh sea air to recharge your batteries as you survey the area where the bush meets the beach and you can enjoy the best of both!
Stylish renovated Queenslander takes you back to when you visited the Grandparents etc in the old house - with high ceilings, light and bright airy spaces, room to chill and rugged enough if you spill - its a return to a slower pace with little mod cons to enhance the experience - but pared back - so you spend time in, with and part of nature in peace and contentment!
