About this property
Create private island memories! Get away to a perfect family paradise!
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY - The Island is not for Everyone.
A visit to our island is a rare opportunity to stay in a genuine wilderness environment with many of the comforts of home. It is important to be well-prepared, self-reliant and know exactly what you are getting into before you arrive.
The island is accessible only by water! You must have your own boat or one is available for rent at a cost of $50 a day.
We highly recommend that visitors have previous experience with camping and backcountry safety. Guests need to be well-prepared, self-reliant and recognize that they will be on their own as there is no on site caretaker standing by to help if things break or something goes wrong.
Although it has seldom happened, there is a possibility that severe weather, waves and wind could temporarily make it dangerous to return to the mainland.
Tap water is filtered after being pumped up from the lake but it is not treated. We provide two 5-gallon jugs of commercially bottled water for each rental.
PLEASE NOTE:Towels and bed linens are not provided. Pillows are provided.
Come to the lake and create family memories that will last a lifetime. The Island is 10 Acres big! The cottage is a true cottage, being built in 1934. Heat and lights are off grid. Solar power provides lights and water pressure. Propane supplies heat for your hot water and stove. The wood insert in the huge old granite fireplace will keep you cozy warm on those cool evenings.
There is limited 120v available, and a generator for emergency backup. Battery power is limited and has to be conserved for those evenings when your reading your book or playing games at the huge dining table!
Come experience the outdoor trails, amazing sunsets, bonfires with friends and family, and fantastic swimming spots for the kids. The Island is great for family rentals. Pets welcome, but any damage or clean up will be at the renters expense.
Minimum age rental is 30 yrs old. Must have some "camping" or off grid cottaging experience.
Max occupancy 8 people, surcharge for over 4 guests.
You will require a boat to get to the island. A 16 foot aluminum boat can be rented for $50 a day plus damage deposit. 4 adult lifejackets included.
Support for any issues that renters have will be via phone with the owner.
Feel free to contact Rob with any questions or inquiries!

About the host
Hosted by Rob

I am from Winnipeg and work as a nurse. I love spending time out at the lake and want to be able to share it with others who love it also. Being at the island is like getting a breath of fresh air!
Why they chose this property
I have been coming to this lake for over 10 years. The water is amazing, as are the sunsets and sunrises! Also at night, the stars on a clear night will take your breath away, and if you are lucky you get to experience amazing northern lights
What makes this property unique
We are a privately owned 10 acre island that has had cottagers on it from at least 1934. The cottage is an amazing structure that has a cozy, old school cottage feel to it. You will feel your stresses melt away as you sit down in the living room and take in the space.
