About this property
Alhambra by Stay Waiheke
Summary:
Set just across from Blackpool Bay, Alhambra is an easy, comfortable coastal base within walking distance of Oneroa Village. A relaxed home that suits families or small groups wanting space, simplicity, and sea views.
The Space:
The home has a warm, lived-in feel with morning light coming through the front windows and quiet evenings when the tide settles across the road.
The main level is centred around an open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area. Floor-to-ceiling glass looks out to the bay, keeping the space bright and connected to the water. The kitchen is fully equipped, the dining table seats the group comfortably, and the lounge works well for shared meals, board games, or a quiet end to the day.
Also on this level are one double bedroom and a full bathroom, plus a second lounge with a double sofa bed for extra flexibility.
Upstairs are two additional double bedrooms reached by a narrow, fairly steep staircase typical of older Waiheke homes. These rooms sit under the roofline and catch afternoon sun, with enough separation from the main living area for anyone wanting a quieter corner.
Outside, the deck and garden give you a simple, private spot to eat breakfast in the sun or unwind after the beach. With the bay steps from the front door, most guests move easily between the house, shoreline, and village on foot.

The Neighborhood:
Alhambra sits on The Esplanade in Blackpool, a quiet stretch of coastline that stays calm even in peak season. From here it’s an easy walk to Oneroa Village for coffee, breakfast, shopping, and dining.

Akito Café — modern, plant-focused breakfast and consistently good coffee.
Wai Kitchen — brunch and daytime plates with views over Oneroa Bay.
Lunch Spots
Solar Eating House — casual all-day menu with a sunny outdoor area.
The Ocean View – Kitchen & Bar — central spot for simple daytime meals and drinks.
Dinner
Fenice — Italian favourites, pizza, and pasta in a relaxed setting.
The Courtyard — tucked-away garden bar and Italian-leaning dinner menu.
Wineries
Mudbrick Vineyard — close by with sea views, wine tastings, and a bistro setting.
Cable Bay Vineyards — Mediterranean-style dining, shared plates, and sunset outlooks.
The Heke — a local favourite for wood-fired dishes, craft beers, and a lively garden bar.
From the house, the walk to the village is straightforward, and the shoreline opposite is ideal for low-tide wandering or quick paddleboard sessions.
