Perfect Apartment and Location
My family rented all 4 apartments on this property for our family and the bridal party for my daughter's wedding. The property was absolutely perfect and less than a mile from the venue.
Beautiful apartment! I loved the furniture and the decorations were amazing, I wanted to take the couch home with me! Amazing shower in the masterbath room, entire suite is updated nicely. The only issue was the noise across the street and the traffic. I HIGHLY recommend for people who like to stay out late.
We had a wonderful stay in this VRBO. Very clean! Comfortable beds and spacious. Quiet and near the town breweries and eating places. Would highly recommend staying here. The rooms are just like the pictures. ADORABLE! The owners are available if anything comes up and are quick to respond. We would stay here again!

Home Away From Home
We found this gem last year when we were looking for a cozy place to stay while visiting relatives for Christmas. It is hard to be away from home for the holidays, but we wanted to be with family. We fell in love with this cozy alternative so much that we booked it for Christmas 2023. We were every bit as pleased this year!
Nice size rental unit. Near wineries However, when we arrived, unit smelled very musty. We had to open windows to get odor to dissipate, but traces still lingered throughout our stay. It wasn’t easy getting suitcases up and doing stairs. You should also install a hand rail in the shower/tub of the smaller bathroom.
This house overall was exactly what we needed. We were apart of a wedding party and rented all but one unit. The individualized units made it still inclusive but secluded all in one. The townhouse unit where we stayed was the perfect size and getaway. I appreciated communicating with Julie; she was so friendly and accommodating for my 3yo twin boys. 5 min to our venue at the winery and about 20-30 min into town.

From the owner: "Thanks for staying with us. Come back again sometime and let your friends and family know we are here if they need a place to stay."
Property is amazing. Very clean. I would caution anyone with difficulty climbing stairs to choose one of the ground floor units. Bring your own soap and shampoo for bathing. Overall a great accommodation in the heart of wine country

I rented the second floor of the Ruebling House, and it was very charming, clean, and updated. The beds were super comfortable and the rain shower off the master bedroom was awesome. I traveled to Defiance for a wedding, so the location was convenient. The only draw back was the limited parking. The whole house was rented out in addition to the back cottage making it difficult to find a parking spot.

Fantastic upstairs apartment
We rented all four of these units for a family reunion. This upstairs apartment was very spacious and well appointed. The beds were incredibly comfortable. The stairs are not recommended for young children or older adults. My sister in law and her teenagers had no problem with the stairs. While there was an activity happening one evening at a local establishment, once inside the unit we did not have any problems with noise. We will definately make this a yearly rental.

Not enough parking. We had to park across the street. You can hear everything from downstairs
This was a beautiful space. Far from my brother in laws place but that was okay. Close to wineries . Parking was limited to first come first serve. We were in the upstairs unit and could hear a fly from downstairs. That was the main problem for us. Once again the unit was beautiful

Sisters Birthday Trip
The overall property was
nicely decorated with both modern and antique decor.
There were a few negatives, however,. They were: no toiletries for the bathrooms, no bathtub/shower rugs no hand towels, no condiment nor coffee for the coffee maker and no lce or place to buy them TV was very bad and hard to operate and lastly, wasn't aware until the day we arrive d just how steep the stairs were getting up to the apartment, especially for three 80 plus year olds. Inconvenient amenities for the money.

Hi Patricia, thank you for your review and for highlighting the aspects of the property you enjoyed, like the decor. We also appreciate you sharing some areas where your stay could have been improved. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:-The homeowner clarifies that while toiletries and pantry items like condiments and coffee are not provided, they will ensure the listing makes this more explicit to avoid any confusion for future guests.-There are ice makers in all of the unit's refrigerators. For bagged ice, there are nearby gas stations and a general store across the street that sell it, but the homeowner will consider adding this information to the listing for convenience.-Bathroom rugs and hand towels are standard in all units, and it appears there may have been an oversight by the cleaning team. The homeowner will ensure that future cleanings include a thorough check to confirm all linens are properly stocked.-Regarding the stairs, the property is indeed over 100 years old, and the steepness of the stairs is typical of homes from that era. The listing includes photos that show the height of the building, but the homeowner will look into further clarifying this detail in the listing to ensure guests are fully aware.Thank you for bringing these points to our attention. We appreciate your feedback as we continue to improve, and we hope to have the opportunity to host you again in the future!

Rural living
The fire alarm went off for no reason at 1:30 am and earlier that day. No hot water in the shower in master bedroom the duration of stay. The sink did have hot water. Called before booking and was told there were stairs but they were not steep. But that was not true, we had a person using a walker. Part of accommodation were rustic looking and part modern. It was a nice experience.

Shared from the owner:"Hi Donna, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are pleased to hear that you had a nice experience despite the challenges you encountered.Steepness of Steps: I apologize for the inconvenience you experienced with the stairs. After reviewing our records, we found that there was no discussion about the steepness of the stairs during your call. In the future, please reach out directly to us if there are specific mobility concerns so we can ensure a more suitable accommodation for your needs.Hot Water in the Master Bathroom: I regret the issue with the hot water in the shower. The system in the primary bathroom can be a bit complex, as it features both a normal spray head and a rain shower head controlled by a single handle. We will be placing clear instructions to assist future guests in using it. We're glad to hear the sink provided hot water as expected.Fire Alarm: I understand how disruptive the fire alarm going off can be, especially at such an early hour. We have inspected the alarm system and found no ongoing issues. We apologize for the disturbance and appreciate your understanding. We consistently receive 5-star reviews from our guests, and we value your feedback as it helps us improve our service and accommodations. Thank you again for your review."
Along with my brother and sister-in-law we were in the area for their grandson’s graduation celebration. This unit of The Ruebling House was the perfect place for our 3-night stay. Our contact, Julie was very accommodating and we were able to put our things in the unit even though we had arrived a bit before check-in time. We found everything to be very clean and well-supplied. Perhaps the only small drawback was that there are very few dining options and no grocery stores in the immediate area. However, we were aware of this when making our plans and so brought everything we needed (and more) from home. On Sunday morning of our stay the power went out just as we were starting breakfast. A quick call to Julie and she made a few calls and confirmed it was a countywide weather-related outage so we made other breakfast arrangements and by the time we got back power had been restored. We enjoyed our stay immensely. (My husband thought the shower in the larger bathroom was simply amazing). We would not hesitate to stay here again when back in the area.
