It was a great location and in a beautiful setting. Home was comfortable and functional, and had many amenities. We were a group of families, and it's a great place for kids!
The kitchen had great amenities except for a Kuerig. A suggestion would be a hand held shower head. Also, one in our group has allergies so unscented detergent would be another suggestion. Beds were comfortable.
The house was great, lots of room for all our guests. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our meals. Lots of towels and everything was very clean. As we were there in the middle of summer it was hot, the fans and AC units helped.
Our family of 13 - 10 adults and 3 children enjoyed skiing, hot pools, board games and family time. A great house for our family. We have already booked for next year!
What a beautiful place and property! This place is way bigger than we anticipated, which was great as our 2 and 4 year old had a place to play in the basement while we got meals ready (or just some quiet time). The view at the end of the road was a 10minute walk and pictures do NOT do it justice. Its a 3min drive to the Fairmont Hot spings, so we could go for a bit then head home and back for a second go around. We had a couple deer visit daily which was great to see. They had this place fully stocked which was great because we forgot laundry detergent but it was there! Overall, we all had a great week stay. It was cozy and the decor made it very welcoming. Highly recommend this place!!!
We had such a lovely experience for our family get together in this home. It was very cozy, warm and inviting. We will definitely return again thank you very much.
Such a spacious place for a family reunion! The bedrooms were comfortable, the bathrooms nicely renovated, the playroom/TV room had such fun things for the kids to do, and there was ample parking. The host was incredibly communicative with almost instant responses to my messages. We loved the fire table in the evenings once the kids were asleep. So much space for everyone to eat, with kids inside and adults on the patio. I don't normally stay in pet-friendly homes, but our son wanted to bring his dog. For a home that is pet-friendly, it smelt fresh. The hosts have thought of everything: great appliances too! Only drawback was the basement bedrooms are noisy with footsteps and clatter from the kitchen directly upstairs. An extra bar fridge would have been a bonus as the men claimed the fridge before the women did, (and they got ousted if they wanted fresh food!!). This was a perfect place for families as the furniture is loved and we didn’t have to be stressing over spills or small feet on the couch etc. Many cute farmhouse-themed knick knacks scattered around the house. Oh! And a yummy welcome package of bits’n pieces! Overall, a great spot for families. Thank you, Tara!
Beautiful property! The host was very responsive and easy to get in contact with. We really appreciated the Welcome basket when we arrived. Very well equipped/functioning kit hen
Our family was able to get together at a gorgeous house in Fairmont Hot Springs! The house was beautiful with spacious rooms and a well appointed kitchen with fabulous appliances. The host was so responsive when we had questions. Super spacious bedrooms and beautiful downstairs living room and children’s play area downstairs. Very easy check in and check out. Definitely would rebook!! Thank you so much
The location was wonderful, such tremendous views. All necessities were easily accessible and the nearby stores made everything so much easier for my group of friends. The fire table was a big hit for us as we used it most of the time at night. Would greatly consider it again.
We had just the coziest and loveliest stay in Fairmont! The house was spotless and very warm and inviting. Great set up for families with young kids with the play room downstairs and all of the toys and stuffed animals! Owners are kind and very helpful. Even offered to get a Christmas tree for the place so kids could have a complete christmas:) They helped us problem shoot some frozen pipes in the kitchen sink when the weather was very cold. Great time soaking at the nearby hot springs and skiing at the Fairmont ski resort. Perfect winter holiday!
I have stayed in many VRBOs around the world! This was by far one of my favourites! It’s even bigger than it looks online with plenty of extras! Half of the stuff we brought from home we didn’t need because it was already provided (q tips, cotton swabs, shampoo/conditioner, sandwich baggies, etc, etc). It was clean and decorated beautifully. The location was amazing, close to skiing, hot springs, the lake, golfing.
Our host, Tara, was very attentive and helpful from the time we booked until the time we left.
Thank you, Tara, for allowing us to stay in your wonderful hideaway! We will be back!

Thank you for the very kind review. We love our home and location as well! We are so happy to hear our place was one of your favourites. We really do try to provide those little extras that families typically need when travelling. It is always nice when it’s appreciated. We hope you choose to stay with us in the future. Thank you again.
The house was perfect for our large family gathering (7 adults, 2 older teens and 2 children). With five bedrooms and 6 beds, we were all comfortable and everyone had their own little getaway spot if needed. The house was fully stocked with absolutely everything you need; all you need to bring is your clothes and your food. Our family are real foodies so having a fully stocked kitchen and state of the art appliances was a real treat. The weather was hot and the main room air conditioner and bedroom ceiling fans kept us cool and we also spent a lot of time on the huge deck with plenty of comfortable seating and large BBQ. The host really has thought of everything to make the stay easy and enjoyable for a large group. A welcome binder is waiting to make checking in and out and expectations very clear. Highly recommend!

Would be better as a winter rental, too hot in the summer (AC advertised is not air conditioning)
Felt underwhelmed and like the property is mislabelled. We specifically sought out a place with air conditioning - we know very well how hot the summers can be.
Unfortunately, the "AC" advertised is not what we would consider AC. Yes, there was a window unit in the living room, however that did not cool the whole place. It only cooled that sitting area - the bedrooms were absolutely roasting, and with small children, you have to close bedroom doors (noise). Those rooms became saunas - half way through the trip, we had to move the children to the basement to try to keep them cool. I recommend the owners provide a fan per bedroom, as well as update the listing to reflect the type of "AC" that is available.
Very easy check in process, very easy to find. The kitchen was stocked, more things than you would ever need. There were several extra bath towels which was also great.
Unfortunately, we found a few things were not clean when we arrived (microwave had food in it, kitchen sink/faucet greasy, dead bugs on window sills etc.). Having "just been cleaned the day before", this shouldn't have been the case. The owner explained there was a different cleaner hired - unfortunately though, that doesn't settle well for us as these are still COVID times and you lose a bit of trust immediately when the place isn't as clean as expected.
The kitchen table does seat 8 but there were 6 dining chairs. There was enough seating for 5 in the upstairs living room. The basement was cool and very welcomed on the hot summer days. The kids play area in the basement was fantastic - our kids used it every day!
A couple other issues: the railing to the basement fell off the wall (Saturday), and I was told they couldn't fix until Tuesday some time until I said we had a 70 year old coming that would need it - then they were able to find a contractor to fix it Monday. We also had an ant problem in the house - we set up traps, which the owner did offer to refund after I mentioned we'd purchased them. ($10 but I said not to bother at that point as we were growing frustrated).
The two king beds are very soft with large divots from sleeping - need replacing. Other beds were fine.
There is no area to play outside, nor playgrounds nearby. Kids played on deck but needed to be supervised as bears do frequent the area.
I believe the owner felt bad about our experience, we were sent half the cleaning fee in the end to make up for the issues but really we felt very over charged.

First, and most important we are truly sorry the guests stay was not as expected. We take pride in our home and want every guest to have a 5-star experience.
We have rented the home for almost a year now on two different sites with 26 reviews in total and have a 4.92 and 5-star rating before this review. Sadly, for all involved this is our first negative guest experience and review. My intent of this response is to show we have learned from the criticism and share changes made. Apologize where appropriate and defend where I think the judgements are unfair.
1. I apologize for not adding the air conditioning details to the listing. This was not on purpose but simply an oversite in writing the details. It has now been corrected and I can see where that would be disappointing if you were expecting central air. We did provide fans for the upstairs bedrooms as the downstairs is cooler. I did however purchase more fans a week after this guest stay. This was done prior reading this review. The guest did not express this dissatisfaction during her stay. Had this issue been brought to my attention I would have had the cleaning lady purchase more fans for them. I'm in no way blaming the guest for not saying anything but to be fair we were not given the opportunity to help correct the issue.
2. We are truly sorry that a few items were missed with the cleaning ( microwave, sink tap, and ledge ) As mentioned during their stay our regular cleaner was on holidays and we hired someone who needed to raise some funds for her mission's trip to South Africa. In helping her we hired someone who was not a regular cleaner and as a result those 3 items were missed. I sincerely apologized and as mentioned refunded 1/2 the cleaning fee. The 5 or so minutes it would take to clean those items was not worth sending a cleaner back in but felt they did deserve some compensation for the home not being as clean as rightfully expected. This is the first time we have had a cleaning complaint and the first we have refunded. We were given the opportunity to compensate and did so.
3. The comment that the dining table only seats 6 and living room 5 is inaccurate. The dining table does seat 8 comfortably or 10 being closer together. Table comes with 6 chairs. A 2 seater bench in the entrance way that guests can pull over and an extra dining table chair is beside the bar cart which is beside the table. We also provide a smaller rolling chair that we keep in a closet if needed. Using all seating you can seat 10. Living room does seat 3 on the couch, one in a living room chair, a second oversized chair. There is also a round throw pouf. We have an open concept were moving the dining chairs over if needed is simple. This is the first time a guest has expressed a concern about not having enough room to sit. Here are some quotes from other guest's reviews
"We loved our stay. The place was very clean, large, tastefully decorated and had all the amenities you would need. Perfect for a large family or group"
Part of another guest review regarding this concern "Looking for a place to host your large family? This is it!"
4. Sometimes things happen in a home that are unfortunate and unexpected. The railing coming off was that kind of situation. I messaged and called the guest to find a solution after receiving her message. This was a Saturday. I explained I too was on Holidays ( a flight away ) but could be there on Tuesday to fix. Or instead of interrupting their holiday we could wait till Thursday to fix as this is when they were checking out. She said she would ask the family which they preffered and get back to me. She did not indicate on the Saturday that it was a must fix from her perspective. There is a wall on both sides of the staircase. Although not ideal to have a broken railing was also not a huge falling risk with the walls on either side to place hands on when going down the stairs. She called me back the next day saying a relative was coming who was 70 and they needed it fixed. I then contacted our contractor on a Sunday, and he came the next morning ( if anyone knows the valley and the back log with contractors, they know that it is not easy to get a contractor to answer their phone on a Sunday, never mind get out to a home the next day. I realize that is not the guest's problem but at the same time I hope they can understand and appreciate we did our best. Had the guest said on Saturday they needed it fixed I would have called the Contractor that day. I still think they would have come on Monday.
5. Ants. This was the first-time guests have complained about ants. We stayed for 3 nights the week before and saw 2 ants, so being proactive purchased traps. Put a few out and put the rest in the cupboard. When the guest said she had to buy traps I explained we already had some but offered to pay for the ones she purchased. She declined. No guest has mentioned ants being a problem before her stay, no guests have complained after her stay ( 6 groups have stayed since this guest ) We are a home surrounded by nature and trees. You may find an ant, spider, mosquito, but it is my honest belief you would find that in any home in Fairmont.
6 Beds. I don't understand this complaint as the beds are less than a year old. If I could post a photo here I would. The King Bed upstairs is a high-end beauty rest with no divots in the mattress. There are however definite divots in the duvet cover so perhaps this is what the guest saw. Happy to send any potential guest a photo of the mattress. Here are a few comments other guests have left about the beds. " A lovely stay in a gorgeous area. We had 10 adults and 4 young children, and everyone was comfortable and enjoyed a great family vacation together. The listening was just as described, and the beds were comfortable." Another guest said " We had a wonderful 3 night stay with some friends. The place was very clean and the beds/bedding super comfy."
7 Play area. As shown in our photos our yard is for the most part natural nature. No grass area. There are paths, and rocks and a pond. In our part of town, we are not allowed to build a fence so any grassy or yard like ours is free for bears and other wildlife to roam. We do have a gated deck which is safe for children. There is a park walking distance away. Other guests have asked us about this, and we directed them. These guests did not ask. This is unfortunate. We are going to add this information to our information guest book, so this is not missed going forward.
I truly am sorry that this guest felt underwhelmed about our home and their stay. We take a lot of pride in our home and the experience we provide our guests.
This is another review from a previous guest. "Tara was very responsive and polite. This is one of the best homes I have stayed in. It was clean, spacious, beautifully decorated, and well stocked. Definitely a 5 star stay." Here is another " Taras's stay was amazing. Our group was thoroughly impressed with the amenities provided to us within the home and enjoyed the ambiance very much. Would definitely stay again." Another guest's experience " Fantastic place. We stayed with a party of 8. 4 adults, 4 children and the house worked very well for us with the 2 levels. Kitchen is well stocked, and appliances are all very nice. Well decorated with nice bedrooms and comfortable beds."
As a result of this review positive changes have been made ensure future guests are happy
1. This was already done before review, but fans are now in every room. By next summer ceiling fans will be in upstairs bedrooms as well.
2. Playground info will be added to information binder
3. We will only use another full time cleaner when ours is on holidays.
4. Ad has been updated to show AC is portable and not central.
I do appreciate the positive comments in this review. They were nice to see from a guest that was disappointed. Thank you.
Even though I knew this guest was unhappy I gave them a 5-star rating. I thought they had expressed all their concerns and gave me a chance to correct. I believed they had communicated well and respected our home. I was surprised to read they had several further complaints, some not even factual (no playground as an example) in a review that will most likely hurt our small business. We rely on good communication with our guests as they rely on hosts for the same.
This has been a learning experience and I do hope our home will be that much better because of it.
If any future guests have any questions before booking, please do not hesitate to ask. I am happy to answer.
We rented this home with our adult children and relatives - eight adults as well as dogs.
This home was extremely comfortable - great decor, comfortable furnishings, excellent beds, all amenities, plenty of room to spread out.
The deck is outstanding. There is a gorgeous canopy of trees that are beautiful to look at and also provide constant shade for those desiring it as well as allowing for perfect sun spots. We spent so many hours reading, snacking, and visiting out there.
The kitchen is extremely well supplied with every dish and tool you could possibly need - we enjoyed the large family dining area.
The host has really taken time to think through little things - every time you thought of something you needed it was right there (a place to easily plug in a charger, laundry baskets, throw blankets, extra towels, etc.)
The host was great to communicate with, responding quickly.
Our favourite activities were Lussier Hot Springs, the Saturday morning market in Invermere, and taking the dogs to numerous river locations close by for swims. The grocery store and ice cream parlour are very close by.
Would highly recommend!
We loved the house. The location was perfect. The house was nicely decorated with comfortable furnishings. The kitchen was a nice surprise as it was redone from the pictures on the site. The appliances were new. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, and cooking utensils and pots and pans. Beds and bedding were nice and comfortable. Plenty of towels etc.
