Let's begin with the photos online are in no way accurate with the current state of the house. As many reviewers have mentioned, the steep, rutted gravel road to reach the house should be described IN DETAIL to potential renters. After making it up the treacherous driveway, the remote locks

We had a great stay. Arriving was a bit unexpected with the steep rough road getting there,didn't remember anything being said about that. One thing I thought that could have helped would be a folder of how all things operate instead of spending time figuring things such as lights,fans,etc. All in all great place to stay

The house was fine and as-advertised. I have to give a poor score, however, for location. The house is situated at the top of a steep, gravel hill. My van blew out a tire trying to climb the potholed hill. After finding an all-night tire repair service, we ended up parking at the base of the hill and walking up every time we went out. My daughter took a bad fall and scraped up her hands and knees.You definitely need a big vehicle with 4 wheel drive to get in and out of this property.If you have that, the property is great, but for a family in a minivan or any smaller vehicle, not so much.

Secluded hill country property

Relaxing getaway home

We had a wonderful time and all pictures were very accurate of the space. Beautiful decor inside and a fun time to get out in the country and away from the city for our 4 kids age 6-15.

We enjoyed our stay at Southwind. Everything was clean and as pictured. My only recommendation is to update the signage to reflect "Southwind" and delete the lock box info since it's not applicable.

Pretty Property

House is super cute and beautiful property. Kitchen is very limited on supplies to use so if you plan on cooking a lot bring your own supplies. Overall, very pleased with our stay.

The location and the view was amazing. The place was neat and clean but the kettle and the dishwasher were not clean at all. The sink had some smell when turned on the water in the bedroom on the first floor.

Great Hill-Side Get-Away

Quiet, peaceful get-away. Fantastic patio and view setting (rolling hills and trees, birds) to relax and enjoy. Only used the first and second rooms (not the 3rd / top floor at all) and everything was very nice. Comfy beds. Would certainly return.

Great House and Location. Perfect for our Stay

Had a group of 9 of us together for a graduation at Texas State University. It was a great stay. Plenty of room for everyone, clean and a great location. Minutes from Wimberly, 20 min from San Marcos, 45 min to Austin and an Hour to San Antonio. Sayed for a week and really enjoyed it! Firepit is awesome, even saw some deer on the property! Highly recommend I'd certainly stay again.

Great property!

We stayed for 4 nights with our family. Great property--definitely remote and peaceful but very close to the great town of Wimberley. Rental was clean and pretty much as advertised. A few light bulbs need to be replaced and they only supplied one roll of paper towels and a few garbage bags so bring those if you are staying for a few days and cooking, etc.

Texas family getaway

Southwind at the Bend was a wonderful location for our family to enjoy Wimberley. Many meals were savored, and games played around the large table in the kitchen. Everyone was comfortable in their own bedroom space with individual A/C units/thermostats. The peaceful surroundings really helped us all feel like we were really getting away from it all. Very clean and appointed. Would rebook in a heartbeat.

Beautiful house with beautiful views

They provided everything we needed for a comfortable stay including throw blankets, nice soaps, bath salts, completely stocked kitchen. The house is beautifully renovated and has beautiful artwork throughout. The fire pit is huge and we had a wonderful evening sitting around the fire pit under the stars. Our only complaint was that the house felt warm in the common areas at mid-afternoon.
