River shack stay
The river shack was a nice place to stay. We enjoyed the use of the hot tub, and spent time at the stream. Plenty of room for our family of 6. The inside is very nice. We did have some issues though. The only way to get to the stream from the path on the property was to walk through a very mucky area about a foot deep. The house is immediately off the highway, and on a road where a ton of traffic cuts through to go to the local brewery, so it is extremely noisy. The two steps to the hot tub were also broken, and a huge bees nest is either in the hot tub cover or directly under the deck.

Great location, okay house
The best part of the house was the location- less than 10 minutes from Sunday river white cap lodge and we loved going to Matterhorn bar for happy hour- about 5 minutes away. The property management team was very pleasant and responsive as well. The house is easy to find right off route 2 but if you’re a light sleeper, I recommend ear plugs or sound machines as large logging trucks frequently drive throughout the night. The inside is as pictured- Worth noting that all four bedrooms are upstairs and two bathrooms are downstairs. One bathroom is directly off the kitchen so not ideal for privacy. The dining table also only has seats for 4 so we could not all seat down for a meal together. The biggest issue with the house was the water quality. It was a greyish color and caused all the kitchenware to be covered in a chalk like residue. I first assumed it was dirty so washed everything by hand again but it didn’t help. Luckily the house had a filtered water dispenser which we even used for brushing our teeth out of caution. If you’re simply looking for a crash pad near the mountain then this house is perfect but not a place you’ll be able to have big meals in all together.
