Adorable. Comfortable. Cozy. Creative. Those words all came to mind as I toured this lovely mountain cottage. Sitting on a wooded lot, beside of a serene pond, Timberwood Hideaway is surely a wonderful place to “just chill” after a day of mountain adventures. Enjoy family style meals thanks to the well-stocked kitchen. Lounge by the fireplace or relax by the propane fireplace on the deck and enjoy the scenery. Night skies are brilliant here and recently renovated bedrooms are inviting and tranquil. Timberwood Hideaway is in a quiet mountain neighborhood and offers easy roads for hiking and biking. Timberline Mountain is a short drive away. Canaan Resort, White Grass, Blackwater Falls, as well as the popular towns of Davis and Thomas, are all just a few minutes from your door. Fabulous place!

We had a fantastic time at Gone Ski’Inn! We highly recommend staying here and are already planning a trip back next year. The house is lovely and in the perfect location to skiing/tubing at Timberljne and Canaan. The house is so cute and had plenty of room for our families. We enjoyed the apres ski sitting by the fire and looking out the windows over the gorgeous view of the forest and frozen pond. Thanks for a great weekend!

Loved cabin , water not clean

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved the cabin and it’s furniture/ appliances. But the water was brown while we were there. Filtering system was not working correctly. We bought water while we there. Hope they get it corrected for future renters.

Beautiful view and loved being able to see the pond from the inside and be able to sit on the porch and enjoy the view. Needed a little TLC but overall a nice stay. Best of Canaan was amazing and so helpful. We had an emergency while on vacation and they helped in every way they could!

Not quite as expected

The house location was awesome. Beautiful area and location to the mountain was great! On the listing it says two bathrooms, but it wasnt clear that there was only one shower for 9 beds. That wasn’t the most convenient. Also, we sat around most of one day because we didn’t have water to use restrooms, and when the property company finally got someone to us, the maintenance man couldn’t even access the garage (where the water source is) and had to leave and come back. The house was an overall fine place, just not quite as described. Regardless we love timberline mountain and will return to a similar place. Thank you to the owners.

The Big Window Views Over the Snow and Pond Were Magical

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Each bedroom and living area had its own thermostat and base heater. Quickly warmed an area when it was I. Use. This greatly added to efficiency and comfort.The windchill got down into the teens but we were all comfortable. Loved the fireplace and extra cuddle blankets.Kitchen had everything needed to cook.Very clean.Lovely outdoor decks, chairs and fire pit. Way too cold to enjoy this trip.Beds comfortable, but wish there had been mattresses pads.

Lovely ski weekend with friends.

Reviewer Comments: A perfect launching pad to two ski areas - Canaan Valley and Timberline, set inside a lovely, quiet woof with plenty of deer and hiking trails. Be aware that you can’t actually Google map the location - you need to check in to get a map that will lead you there; I was originally confused about what would be more convenient to ski (Timberline is closer but far more expensive without a season pass) Canaan is about 20 minutes and great for beginners, especially). Condo is clean, well laid out (perfect for our two families of two adults and two kids each). High speed wifi is great and very welcome as the service in the area is very spotty (at least in Verizon). Be sure to pack in groceries - kitchen is well appointed.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This property has a lovely setting and location. We were there during peak leaves of fall and it couldn’t be more beautiful. The house was clean but we were disappointed that the beds didn’t have a box spring. They sat low to the ground. There were no blankets in the house and the weather was getting cold. The bunk beds were very low to each other and we had to literally lay down to get in and out of them. Never seen any that low. Our family members hit their heads and backs trying to get in and out of the bottom bunks. They need adjusted in height. We didn’t realize the upstairs bathroom didn’t have a shower and only had a big tub. Very well furnished though and beautiful decor and bedding. New furniture too as well as a new refrigerator.
