Much to Praise but not without its Problems
My wife and i arrived in the late afternoon after a long drive from San Francisco. But Cynthia was waiting for us with all the information needed to sustain us for our stay in Vancouver. The cupboards were full of coffee, teas, soaps for your body, dishes, laundry…and all good quality products. Abundance of paper products…facial tissue, toilet paper, and paper towels were neatly tucked away in many storage closets, The apartment is fully equipped with all the things you would need to run a home. The kitchen, as small as it was, provided a place to prepare simple meals with a small combination ,microwave/convection oven. There is a table and a couple of chairs on the terrace suitable for a morning coffee or a small dinner. A narrow frig with a large freezer, dishwasher, pots and pans although we never found sauce pan.
The Maribell is an attractive new buillding. It does not have pool, but there is a big workout room. Thje apartment itself is furnished to fit its size, with the exception of the choice of a king size mattress. The room is too small so the king blocks the room, but the mattress was firm and very comfortable. The bathroom has a shower over tub. At night the under counter lights keep flashing on. We found it best just to close the door between the washroom and bedroom. The TV is a huge smart TV with cable connection. But like the operation of the AC the instructions were difficult to follow. Cynthia brought her son over to show us how to use these devices. This was just another example of how she made every effort to make our stay comfortable.
The newness of the Mirabell means the biulding lacks community. So residents entertain on their decks with noise late into the night. We had problems with a neighbor who allowed his dog to relieve itself on the deck outside his unit. Left for several days on the deck in summer heat created a unpleasant situation for us when we wanted to use the outside area of our condo. We communicated the problem to Cynthia and she quickly resolved the issue. She was always very responsive to our concerns.
I would recommend this apartment despite its limitations. It is located and a very useable neighborhood and the owner does eveything in her power to make your stay confiortable.
