About this property

Bach 14 | Stay Waiheke

Summary:
Laid-back and full of light, Bach 14 sits quietly near Oneroa Village, a true family bach made for easy days and unhurried nights.

The Space:
Bach 14 by Stay Waiheke feels like holidays used to, easy, open, and filled with light. Mornings start with coffee on the deck, the sound of birds drifts across the garden. Doors stay open all day, connecting the kitchen, lounge, and deck into one generous, relaxed space made for family time.

Inside, the home features modern furnishings and thoughtful touches that keep the space feeling fresh and relaxed. The kitchen sits at the centre, fully equipped for family meals and shared moments, the kind of space where breakfast drifts into conversation and dinner prep feels like part of the holiday.

The main cottage includes three bedrooms and one bathroom: a bright master that opens to the deck, a soft double, and a twin room for the kids. Each room is light-filled, with super-comfortable beds, natural tones, and that easy Waiheke calm.

Across the flat, fenced lawn sits a detached studio with its own bedroom and bathroom, ideal for grandparents, friends, or teens wanting a little space. The garden is fully enclosed and sun-filled, perfect for games on the grass or quiet afternoons under the trees.

Evenings are for easy meals, good company, and that gentle island rhythm that makes time seem to slow down.

Sleeps: 9 guests (maximum of 6 adults)
Bedrooms: 4

Main house: 3 bedrooms – 1 × master (opens to the deck), 1 × double, 1 × twin (ideal for children)

Detached studio: 1 × bedroom with its own bathroom

Guest Access:
Guests have full and private access to the entire property, including the main house, the detached studio, and the fenced garden and deck. There’s off-street parking for one car, and everything has been set up to make your stay easy and comfortable.

Check-in is from 2 pm, and check-out is 10 : 30 am. Early or late check-ins may be available for an additional fee, depending on bookings before or after your stay.

The Neighborhood:
From Bach 14, the best of Oneroa is right on your doorstep. Little Oneroa Beach is just a few minutes’ walk away, calm, sheltered, and perfect for children. Mornings here start slowly. Wander down for a swim, let the kids paddle at the edge, and grab a takeaway coffee from the Little Oneroa Beach Store while you watch the day begin.

When lunchtime rolls around, you can stay put for fish and chips on the grass at Little Oneroa Beach, or wander up to Oneroa Beach, only an easy ten-minute walk away beside the village. Pick up fresh sushi from The Sushi Bar or a quick bite from one of the local cafés, then sit by the waterfront and watch the boats drift across the bay.

The village itself is filled with island charm, with boutiques, galleries, and local spots like Double Shot Joe and Island Grocer for fresh produce and supplies. Treat yourself to a scoop of Island Gelato on your walk back to the house, then unwind as the day stretches into evening.

Looking for something to do at night with the family? Head to the Waiheke Island Community Cinema, where you can sink into big, comfy couches and watch a movie just like the locals do.

The Matiatia Passenger Ferry Terminal is only a few minutes’ drive or a quick bus ride away, making arrivals and departures simple. Here, everything feels close and easy, beaches, cafés, and the village all within walking distance. It’s the kind of neighbourhood where mornings begin barefoot and evenings end with salt on your skin, exactly the way a Waiheke holiday should be.

Getting Around:
If you’re exploring further, the bus stop is just around the corner from Bach 14, making it easy to reach other parts of the island. By bus, you can travel through vineyard valley and stop right outside some of Waiheke’s best wineries, including Tantalus Estate, Stonyridge, and Te Motu, each offering world-class wine, food, and views. If you’re after something a little more relaxed, don’t miss The Heke Brewery and Distillery, just down the road. It’s a favourite local hangout with craft beer, small-batch spirits, and hearty food served under the trees, the perfect spot for an easy afternoon. And yes, there’s a bus stop right outside the gate, making it one of the island’s easiest visits

There’s off-street parking at the property if you’re driving, and most beaches, cafés, and shops are only a few minutes away. Many guests also love exploring by e-bike, a scenic and easy way to wander between the beaches and vineyards at island pace

Other Things to Note:

Close to the village, restaurants and the beach.

The property is nicely furnished and presented in a beach style. We had plenty of space with the sleep out next door. Great showers, comfy beds and sofas, coffee machine ... A sunny outdoor deck, and large trees provided shelter. A quick walk to the beach, the village and close to a variety of restaurants. Very happy to recommend this property.

Great stay for family with kids who like outdoor space

We enjoyed our stay very much and found the home very well stocked with linen, bedding etc, and very comfy. The kids loved the large flat front yard and the sleepout. Not sure if it'd be warm enough in the colder months though?

The owners have done a wonderful job in updating the property and have been very thoughtful with providing everything that you need for a holiday. The flat front yard is perfect for kids and it is only a short walk to the beach and shops.

Perfect getaway, but close to everything

Brilliant place to for the family to stay. My wife commented how wonderful the interior design was and how they had thought of everything. Great linen, and beds. Everything was super comfortable and clean. Minutes from great beaches. We would definitely stay here again.
