This property is in a great location and has a lovely view from its balcony. The resort is beautiful and well-maintained and the pool is fantastic! The apartment is quiet, pleasant and comfortable.
Palm Cove is as beautiful as they come. The apartment is basic and clean and in an ideal location with excellent proximity to both the town and beach.
We booked just ahead of the news of a cyclone developing. As a result, the two days after arrival, the beaches were closed, pool chairs were put away, restaurants and cafes all closed down well in advance of the storm hitting. While not something the owners would know, they forced our hand early and essentially, we in turn felt forced to keep our reservations regardless of the predicted conditions. Normally, not something worthy of complaint, but, in this instance, we were essentially left to fend for ourselves for 4 of our 6 days. No communications from the management company on what to expect, how to manage if things went sideways, etc., except for an ask to bring the patio furniture indoors.
We lost access to the elevator for three days and repeatedly got locked out of the building with no support given that the apartment staff and the whole town hunkered down at their own homes.
It basically came down to the owners wanting it both ways - their full reservation to remain in tact with full payment and for us to make do with cyclone conditions, patio furniture in the living space, no beach, no pool, no services in town, no staff, etc.
Great location. Odd circumstances. Definitely something to consider should you experience ann unplanned event happen while booked.

Hello Wendy,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. It's wonderful to hear that you found Palm Cove beautiful and the apartment clean, offering an ideal location.
We deeply regret the disruptions caused by the unforeseen circumstances surrounding the developing cyclone. Despite sending out emails to all in-house guests containing necessary requirements and contact information, we understand that the closure of beaches, removal of pool chairs, and the shutdown of local services significantly impacted your stay.
Regarding the issue of being locked out, we weren't made aware of this as we didn't receive any calls from you seeking assistance. Our lines are always open, and we strive to provide help wherever possible. Given the highly unusual weather impact, our utmost priority was to keep our guests informed and safe. We apologize if there was any miscommunication or if you felt we were unavailable during this challenging time. Your feedback is important, and we'll endeavor to improve our responsiveness in such situations.
Kind regards,
Antje- Escapes Manager
Great little apartment in a great location. Only small negative is the second ‘bedroom’ has no fan or AC so we had to keep the room divider open all night for the AC to flow through from the main bedroom. Also, the doors to both bedrooms are frosted glass meaning we had have the lights off in the living room until the kids fell asleep. No biggie though, we otherwise really enjoyed our stay.

About the host
Hosted by Antje Gruttemeyer - Belle Escapes Cairns
As a long time resident of North Queensland and a highly experienced host in both Cairns and Port Douglas, I have a wealth of local knowledge and I understand exactly what guests need and want to enjoy a truly exceptional stay.
I love being an ambassador for Cairns and I’m always delighted to recommend the best things to see and do, if guests need my help. Because I know the area so well, even if they’re only here for a few days, I’m able to suggest things that will give them a wonderful overall picture of what Far North Queensland has to offer. It’s a pretty easy job considering paradise is right on our doorstep!
I personally take advantage of the stunning natural beauty at every opportunity by going camping, hiking and getting out on the reef and snorkelling. I’ve got a lifelong passion for fitness and well-being so I’m very often out on one of our many picturesque walking trails, like Earl Hill or the Red Arrow, but I also love kicking back and enjoying the simple pleasures of a glass of wine or dinner on the Esplanade or at one of our gorgeous beaches.
My experience as a holiday property owner myself means I understand that little details make a big difference, so communication and attention to detail are my priorities. Things like double checking the cleaning is tip top, turning on lights and/or air-cons, and setting up sofa beds for late arrivals are just a few of the things I do to make sure my guests arrive to a comfortable, welcoming and relaxing home away from home.
