Beautiful property! The pictures do not give the property the justice it deserves. It was spacious, well-kept and most of all very well maintained and clean. The owner was thoughtful and answered all our questions and spent time on the phone familiarizing us with the property and the surrounding community which was extremely helpful. Our family will definitely return.
Thank you for your lovely review! It was a pleasure working with you, and we look forward to having you back!
Family Holiday Getway
Property was very clean, beds were comfortable . We had plenty of room for six adults and 2 children. The open concept with the kitchen, dinning, and living room was great. Close to the highway easy to get to other areas of the cape. I would suggest a Keurig Coffee machine and a larger dinning table, small for 8 people to seat and eat. Alison was very accommodating with information on Holiday events on the Cape.
Would recommend to others.
Awesome and charming
Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful home. House is super comfortable and very stylish with old New England charm. Close to beaches and many shops and restaurants, surrounded by beautiful countryside.
So glad you enjoyed your stay! You are always welcome to stay again!
The shower/tub was the cleanest I’ve seen especially for a house this age and frequently rented.
Extremely comfortable double bed upstairs. The twins could use more cushioning for seniors such as us.
A lot of room for the five of us. Very large kitchen. Washer and dryer with supplies.
All in all, very comfortable and clean. Would definitely stay again.
Thank you so much for your review, Lillian! We love your comment about the bathrooms! The two queen and one double mattresses are all brand new. I’ll have to check with you which single mattresses were uncomfortable since we have 6 singles! Some of the singles will be replaced this year! Your input is very helpful!
We had a wonderful stay at this house.
Situated in the heart of the Historic District, this home gives you a peacefully forested and spaciously lush green lawn property, close to the historic Captain's Row on 6A (the Old King's Highway) with its highly rated restaurants, intriguing antique shops, various creative art centers and the talent-drawing Cape Playhouse (7 min). It is just off Rt. 6, the main access to everything, yet also only a few minutes from Rt. 28. Located 30 minutes from the canal and 40 minutes to Provincetown, our home is very centrally located. Vary your experience by choosing beautiful beaches on the Bay, the Sound, or the Atlantic Ocean. It is an area of exceptional restaurants, a beautiful natural boardwalk for watching ospreys and sunsets at Gray's beach, evening baseball games down the road at Dennis-Yarmouth high school, local golf clubs, grocery stores, medical needs, as well as lots of 'kid' restaurants and activities for children, including Zooquarium, miniature golf, trampolines, game centers, playgrounds, and Scargo Tower all within 5 minutes of our home, while Hyannis, Whale Watching, the Melody Tent (drawing a wide variety of well known musical talent), Barnstable Airport, museums including the Kennedy Museum, and the Cape's largest mall are within 10 minutes. Even jet-skiing, para-gliding, and wind-surfing are minutes away in Dennis. Whatever you love to do, we have it easily accessible within a few miles radius..
Home is available year round and has a generator.
About Alison Clark
Alison is a recently retired teacher while John is retired from Ciba-Geigy and from instructing the Dale Carnegie Course. They make their primary home in New Jersey, close to 15 grandchildren. Alison summered on Cape Cod from the mid-1950's when her Grandparents retired to the Cape from the Berkshires to escape mountain snows. The house is Alison and John's second home when others are not there to enjoy it and they keep it immaculate and updated. Their caretaker and grounds keeper lives right down the street and is always available when needed.
Why Alison Clark chose Yarmouth Port
The original property was a single lot and the original small cape cod home was built by a local contractor for my grandparents when they retired. The original home passed down to the next generation, and my father decided to expand and update the home to fulfill the dreams so often spoken of by the women of the family. Today it is a lovely airy home, fully updated, environmentally sound, new furnace, new windows, and a second piece of property to keep and expand the feeling of the original wooded property.
What makes this House unique
The minute you walk in the door, you feel the tensions of life fall away. The large windowed family room just welcomes you in, and soon you find it is the center of your time in the house. It leads you to the deck where we love to share our meals outdoors, or sit quietly to read a great book. The kitchen is wonderfully spacious for cooking. Step out the door and you are only minutes from every possible Cape Cod activity or restaurant due to the home's central location. Or just stay on the property and enjoy...there is lots available to do right there! Badminton, soccer, foosball, air hockey, board games. It truly is a Home Away From Home...... and you have the time to enjoy it!
