Located in Western Victoria, among the rolling hills of Henty, the property holds a long and storied history dating back to the 1800's. The homestead (circa 1901) sits atop a large hill and is a large U shaped designed Edwardian home featuring 11 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms. Talisker comfortably sleeps 24 people.
Talisker is a space for you and your loved ones to create your own experience.
We look forward to hosting you!
Please contact us if you wish to bring pets or have an event at our venue.
A few things to remember to make your stay at Talisker a safe and enjoyable one for all: •Talisker is a working farm with machinery, dams and other hazards. -Given the nature of the property, we do not feel it is suitable for young children. We request that you message us for approval before any chilren under 10 are brought to the property. There are many decorative pieces around the house and the house is not child proofed as such - please be aware of this and take care -Given Talisker is a working farm, there may be sheepwork happening and the owners (Andrew and Kate) may be on the farm at any given time. We generally try to let guests know what is happening on the farm, but if you see anything concerning, please always just call or message us •We have sheep on the property (in paddocks, not around the house but you may encounter them if you go for a walk). Sheep are not dangerous, but they are animals and we simply ask you to respect their space. •Talisker is a historic building and the need to preserve the history of this beautiful building is paramount. To this end, we ask that care always be taken around the house – we have endless space to play cricket or kick a football, and we would ask that any activities be undertaken away from the house, and especially our leadlight windows. •The rooftop are currently not available for guest use and we ask you to respect this as we continue to work on the home

The property is excellent for a remote getaway. We were a extended family of 20 and thoroughly enjoyed the stay.
Kate was on site to introduce us to the property. She's a very warm and friendly person.

Thank you very much, Jiju. We loved having you and your family and you're welcome back any time!
We had a wonderful stay at Kate’s place. It was a huge house with plenty of spaces. It is a very old house, but with very recently renovated interiors. Situated in the middle of acres of bare lands , hence we enjoyed our nights with no restriction for music. Love this place

Thank you so much Thanuja for your kind comments, and for being a wonderful guest.
The property and homestead were fantastic. We all really liked the outdoor firepit and the large formal dining room easily seated 13 of us. We organised a yoga session for our second day and had a great session on the front lawn under blue skies.
This is a beautiful 100+ year old historic homestead situated on a working sheep property with 360 degree views of the surrounding green hills. You can see for miles and miles and its magnificent.
The property is nearing completion of a large and very tasteful renovation, and whilst we had a couple of minor hiccups with everything being so new, Kate could not have been more helpful getting them resolved quickly for us.
Both Coleraine and Casterton are a comfortable 20 minute drive away, and Portland and Mt. Gambier about an hour away, so there is lots to explore. We plan to come back again.
Thanks for hosting us Kate.

About the host
Hosted by Kate
We are a couple who were looking for some farmland in 2020 and stumbled across Talisker. Since settling the property in February 2021, we have gone about renovating the house with much love and respect for the history of this great old property.
Why they chose this property
Talisker is a piece of living history. The size of its rooms, the number of the rooms, and the outlook from the house over the hills makes it an incredibly unique property. We love Talisker and hope you will too.
