Civic holiday weekend stay
Overall, we had a great time with our family. The area is beautiful with lots of things to do like the beach, bird watching, wineries and breweries.
The house itself was quiet nice. However it was not very clean when we entered. For example, the couch cushions had popcorn and dirt under them. The dishes had a lot of hard water stains.
The listing was not very accurate. Among other things we noted that they did not have a blender, basic soap for showers and a kettle as originally listed.
It was also odd that on two of the days that we were there strangers entered the property to access the boat house (backyard) to pick up their boat rental. We had no idea this was going to happen as there was no communication of this- that would have been appreciated.
Above all communication with the property manager was difficult. When I initially made the reservation a few months before, I messaged him about the listing to clarify a few questions. He never responded to me until 3 days before the stay after multiple attempts to try and contact him.
While on the property I tried to contact him re: kitchen equipment and after delaying and being evasive his only response was that it should be there in the house.
Additionally the check in information stated that the keys to access the boat house (location of kayaks) were in the house at a specific location. They weren't. The property manager noted that he had them and that he would come by in the morning to bring out the kayaks. He didn't do this either. We actually accessed the boat house as one of those strangers who were renting the boat opened the door for us. I informed him that we were able to acquire the kayaks later on in the evening (day he originally was supposed to show up) and he just responded back saying great.
It was very clear to us that he was being evasive and only responded once a solution was reached by myself. This was unfortunate especially considering how expensive the property is.
I don't think I would rent this property again but I would definitely return back to the area as it is beautiful.
