Didn't Know I Was Coming
I booked my rental on August 6, 2022, for the weekend of August 26 - August 28, 2022. Fast forward to Friday, August 26, and I had received nothing from Vrbo or the property manager. The listing informed me that I could check in at 3 pm that day; however, I couldn't because I didn't receive the code for the door until 4 pm that day. After this debacle, I was finally given the code and upon arrival, I realized that no one had told me what apartment was my rental. I had no way of contacting the host until I got a message from Vrbo regarding my host's number and email. I texted the number provided with no answer for about 10 minutes; in that time frame, I was fortunate enough to figure out which apartment was mine. After getting everything carried up to the apartment, I received a phone call from the host telling me that she didn't even know I was supposed to be staying there that weekend (which is funny because I messaged through the app 3 times before I arrived). After this comment, she asked "does the apartment look clean at least?" then also asked me if "I had seen a Tupperware container with fruit that the last guest had left," which to me indicated that no one had cleaned or been in there since the last stay. Everything seemed fine afterward because the apartment did seem clean on the surface, but the longer I stayed I realized it wasn't all that clean. My final complaint is that in the guest binder, NONE of the information was correct: the door code, the wifi name, and even the wifi password.
The trip was fantastic and we did have a very nice time; however, I just feel that the small group that stayed had invested quite a bit of money just to feel not significant.
