The hosts were very welcoming and available on the day of arrival and departure. They care about their guests. Amenities are well-maintained, and everything was clean and in very good condition.
At the start there was a mix up with the booking from my end but Monica and Silvio were really accommodative thank you soo much. We really enjoyed our relaxing stay .
Great place to stay with family and friends.
The house was beautiful and close to all you need.
Amazing experience and truly enjoyed by the whole family.
We had a great, relaxing stay. Very serene with beautiful surroundings. The property was very clean and has all the amenities needed. Would highly recommend :)
Awesome accommodation to enjoy the serenity of the secluded location, while being close enough to Rushworth to meet with friends or buy supplies etc. We will definitely return one day!
The moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome by our hosts.
The accommodation was wonderful, heating already on, chiminea stacked ready to go and some lovely welcome gifts.
Very peaceful surroundings and town was only 5 minutes away by car
Would highly recommend to anyone that wants to relax and recharge the batteries!!
Monica and Silvio were excellent to deal with and our whole holiday was perfect. Retreat was as described and it was lovely and fresh. Thank you for having us!
Loved our stay - just didn't stay long enough to explore!
Our stay was short and sweet - we travelled for a wedding. Unfortunate that we didn't get the chance to stay longer to explore the area. Tight sqeeze for two adults in the second bedroom but a perfect little abode if you're looking for a weekend getaway with the kids. Close to, but far enough from the water.
Such a great little stay and would definitely stay again :)
I cannot begin to say how impressed I am! The owners are very kind and approachable and the unit itself is immaculate! The outdoor BBQ area with a fireplace was used.... a lot! Cooking breakfast in the morning surrounded by nature and so many kangaroos was a highlight, to roasting marshmallows at night after cooking some local steaks we picked up in town. The owners also let us know that there was an Easter Festival in Rushworth (aprox 5kms away), and were flexible enough to ensure our check-in was smooth and we didn't miss a thing.
The real story happened on Easter Saturday when my family jumped in the Landcruiser for a bit of exploring around the Basin. Long story short, we got bogged. Big time! I texted the owners about my predicament and the were out with the tractor to pull me out straight away! There is a great deal more about this story that I would love to tell, but I'll leave discression with the owners to tell the unabridged version. Or feel free to ask and I'll happily fill you in. Suffice it to say, the effort and support of the owners, and their community was outstanding.
We were planning our next trip there in the car on the way home with my 3 primary school age daughters! For a place without WiFi, this is an extraordinary feat in itself!
I can't give this getaway enough praise and we can't wait to get back!
Stayed here for the weekend with my partner and 2 kids (7m and 1). Beautiful little cabin with amazing views of the basin, farmland and animals. The hosts were so friendly and made us feel right at home. Even stocking the house with kid friendly bowls, cups, cutlery and toys. Hospitality 10/10. Super clean. Private. Seamless stay. Will definitely be back soon. Can’t recommend enough!
What a lovely getaway, so stunning and serene. The property is so beautiful and the surroundings are a tranquil collaboration of bush and farmland and the Basin.
Although the views and the fresh air could speak for themselves, Monica and Silvio- our gorgeous hosts- managed to make this stay simultaneously comforting and refreshing. Their attention to detail in creating this beautiful corner of the world continued to amaze us, from the fireplace and barbeque with everything we could have needed, to the most tasty complimentary wine and nibbles. The place is stylish and cosy inside and out, plenty of places to laze around and just absorb your surroundings and take a breather. Monica and Silvio were so accommodating and even upon our late arrival, they went above and beyond to welcome us and get us settled in.
We will definitely be returning during the warmer months for a whole other version of this experience- but even in the colder weather, the cosy fireplace and heaters provided make everything feel magical.
Thank you Monica and Silvio- can't wait to see you again next time!
I was privileged to be the first person to stay here! As a solo traveller, the container cabin style and size was perfect (although I was told they're planning a possible extension).
From indoors on the sofa there were plenty of mobs of kangaroos going past and a wide variety of native birds (I counted 14 species). Lots of nature doing it's thing!
The cabin is fairly isolated, located at the bottom of a paddock, and I had no trouble driving my sedan car to it. Its about 1km from a caravan park beyond a small patch of bush.
Good sunrises, skies, etc. To be honest I was sorry to leave.
I have to mention that the hosts provided a generous dose of extra hospitality when a freak weather event kept me indoors for most of my booking - which was much appreciated!
