Clean, comfortable, bathroom was inviting with awesome shower, bed was comfortable, elk wandered property. Owner is great and very responsive. Will stay there again.
My friend and I booked this property for a home base as we explored some of Mt Rainier. We absolutely loved it! So unique and modern, very comfortable & quiet. Cute towns nearby as well. Ian was very friendly, knowledgeable, and accessible! Would for sure consider staying here again in the future, highly recommend.
Ian is a wonderful host with the sweetest dogs! He communicate quickly via text. This stay was perfect for me and my husband. We saw elk right outside the front door! The only unfortunate thing was that Fairfax bridge was closed so there was not any access to Mt. Rainier. It was the perfect getaway next to a sweet little town.
A cozy and efficient stay in beautiful backcountry
Ian's property is beautiful and remote, and boasts refined accommodations. He does the essentials right (nice kitchen sink and HVAC unit) and splurges on the additions (Neutrogena shower gel, good complimentary snacks). His dogs are great, too! Communication was clear and check-in was a breeze - just make sure you route to the pin drop Ian provides while you still have signal, as his property is really off the beaten path. Highly recommended.
One of my childhood friends came up for a visit from Illinois for his birthday. When I asked him what he wanted to do on his visit all he said was “mountains”.
This spot is a scenic drive away from tons of different trails and ranier National park. Not to mention it’s tucked away enough to have wild elk walk next to the property.
It’s been a wild experience and a total blast. The unit was cozy and accommodations were awesome. Stock up on some groceries and you’re good for a couple days.
Would love to come back up and hit the trails.
Ian the property manager was great and very helpful.

Sweet wooded retreat
We wanted to explore the Carbon River hiking opportunities and found this conveniently located tiny home. The space is well designed and comfortable with lots of little extras. The mattress was comfortable and we greatly enjoyed the large shower head in the bathroom. We stayed in the downstairs unit. I was concerned that this might be noisy but we could not hear footsteps or conversations from our upstairs neighbors. There is a nice outdoor space with a full-sized picnic table and kids' picnic table as well as a fire table, grill, and chairs. There are separate outdoor spaces for each unit. In other words, the tables, chairs, fire table, and grills are not shared. The view of the woods behind the building is very pretty. We saw a small group of elk each day. Ian, the owner, is friendly and attentive. Highly recommend.
My husband and I are hikers and wanted to explore the Carbon River area of Mt. Rainier. Since we do not backpack or do dispersed camping and there are no campgrounds in the area, this tiny home was perfect for us. It is also very functional and stylish. The kitchenette, which contains a microwave, convection/toaster oven, coffee maker, and electric tea kettle, was nicely stocked. There is a grill outside along with picnic tables, a patio heater, and chairs. The bathroom has a nice oversized shower head. Knowing that we were staying in the lower unit, I was a bit concerned that we would hear a lot of noise from our neighbors, who were staying above us. To my surprise, we could not hear footsteps, voices, etc. The unit has a mini-split, so the interior temperature was comfortable. The woods behind the house are beautiful and we saw and heard elk and their young every day. Highly recommended!
We enjoyed our stay at this property, and will definitely consider it for a return visit. It was close to a couple of small towns (Carbonado and Wilkeson) with enough food to keep us fed for the weekend we were there. We arrived Friday night and left Sunday, and spent most of Saturday on a hike up to Green Lake out of the Carbon River Ranger Station in the NP.
Ian, the host, was very friendly and we got a chance to chat him up after we arrived to learn about how he got the trailers on site and the process of turning them into rental units. When we arrived there were elk in the nearby pasture and we enjoyed listening to the bark of the calves in their herd.
The unit was pretty much brand new, and it was the perfect size for my wife and I. It was well-appointed and had a little kitchenette which we used for making tea and reheating the leftover pizza from the semi-famous shop in Wilkeson. The bed was comfy and we both slept well.
The directions provided by Ian were spot-on and we had no problem finding the property. This is a perfect spot from which to explore Mt. Rainier from the Carbon River entrance and the surrounding wilderness.

Wonderful place to stay!!
Ian was a great host! He greeted us with a smile when we arrived and was very accommodating to our needs/requests. The apartment was very clean and well stocked. The beds were amazingly comfortable. We could not have asked for a better location. Overall a wonderful place; we would stay here again easily!
