The Space:
Saddle Country Escape is located in Tyaak, close to Stevenson Falls, Kinglake National Park, and a short drive from nearby towns of Broadford and Seymour. It's the perfect off-grid retreat with a well-equipped kitchenette, pot-bellied stove, queen-sized bed up in the loft, and a couch on the ground floor. A cozy 155-square-foot tiny home that has cooking tools, cutlery, and a portable electric cooler fridge.

The bathroom, however, follows ecologically sustainable principles, including a waterless eco-friendly compost toilet, hand basin, and shower (gas heated for hot showers). It focuses on satisfying people's needs with natural resources and processes to save water through using eco-friendly toilets to save the environment.

Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the tiny house and the surrounding areas, except the land host's private residence and barn.

In addition, we'd like to remind guests that this tiny house is an off-grid unit that runs on solar energy. We advise guests to conserve energy during the day and only use it when necessary. Overall, minimal consumption is advised to prevent power outages when using solar power.

The Neighborhood:
Saddle Country Escape sits near a small town in Broadford, where gold was discovered by an old mining town in 1852. Unlike many gold mining towns that died, this one has survived as a historical attraction in the region.

Today, there are a small number of well-preserved historic buildings in the area, along with nearby attractions such as Uncle Nev's Trail Rides and Mount Disappointment, which offer leisure walks.

- For extra firewood requirement, you may collect for free within the property or buy at petrol stations
- There is a barn loft on this property which is also rented out, so expect some noise from the animals that may roam around in the surrounding area
- If you plan to bring your horse, please inform the land host 24 hours before arrival to make the necessary arrangements for a horse boarding fee of $20 per night plus insurance (daily insurance fee to be advised).

Important note:

- Guests are advised to bring portable power banks in case of low power
- Guests are also advised to save energy to avoid running out of electricity
- Please take note that outdoor fire pits are not available during the fire season
- Please charge your phone and electronics in advance in case of low-light days
- Due to the nature of the property, abundant wildlife may be present on the property
- Keep in mind that BBQ grills and outdoor fire pits are not available during a total fire ban
- Keep in mind that there may be other residences on the property that guests will rent out, so you may run into them when roaming around the property.
- In order to maintain the cleanliness and functionality of our compost toilets a minimum additional cleaning fee is applied for stays of 5 nights or more. We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring a hygienic experience during your stay.
