Our stay was just perfect! The sound of the waves to fall asleep to was exactly what we all needed. The home had it all.. comfy beds, spacious living area, beautiful yard, sound system for music lovers. Dave met us and gave us a tour and was very quick at communication for our needs. The deck was lovely for morning yoga and sunbathing. The bikes and travel books were a plus! We had a wonderfully relaxing week in Rondeau.

My family and I were thrilled with the cottage and the location. The cottage had everything we needed and more. The location was close to all the places we wanted to visit, and lots of quiet time when we need it. David was a great host. Thanks so much.
This is a well thought out and cared for property with a comfortable, laid back charm. The hosts are attentive and very nice. A great location right next to the waves on the lake.
We enjoyed the peace and quiet and a rockin' thunderstorm...plus barbecuing on the large deck and a wood stocked fire pit. Thanks for a great stay!
Amazing property with fantastic lake view and private beach. 6 of us for 3 nights. Plenty of room. Nice comfortable beds. The large deck and huge yard makes being outdoors so easy. Very nice beach with shallow water . Overall stay was perfect. David is a great host and we are looking forward to booking again

Robert, Michelle and friends were wonderful guests to host. They used all parts of the property, enjoying all that it had on offer. I very much appreciate how they cleaned up and left the cottage as they found it. Hope to see the gang in the future.
My wife and I had a great, relaxing weekend here. The area is somewhat secluded and very peaceful . We spent the bulk of our time down on the beach . The cottage itself was very comfortable and clean. David is a great host and is open to suggestions . We'll be back.

Thank you David for your review and we appreciated both you Linda staying at our cottage. You had mentioned about the air-conditioning to me directly, which is only 2 weeks, about upstairs not being as cool as downstairs. I fixed the situation by redirecting air from the basement vents. Hope to see you both in the future. Cheers. David, Elizabeth & Finnegan
Antrim Cottage the place to go if you want "Peace & Quiet"! Cottage is so well equipped and clean and the veiws are wonderfu.
So much to see and do if you happen to need a days outing. We would recommend Point Pelee park if you want to see birds in the Spring or Fall. The Bakery Trail was a fun rainy day activity.
David was on hand or at the end of the phone when ever we needed anything. And he will give you the directions to where to go to buy fresh fish!
This property is "5 STAR!"
We loved everything about the cottage, it really is a gem! It is well furnished, clean, the beds were comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped with everything we needed. David is a very friendly host, easy to communicate with and obviously takes great care of the cottage. We were on a birding trip so spent most of our time at Rondeau Provincial Park (the cottage is ideally located for visiting Rondeau) but enjoyed the decks very much at the end of the day. We were too busy to use the very nice looking bicycles that were available or the firepit or the beach - we wished we had more time to take advantage of all the cottage had to offer. We definitely want to book this property again and will add a couple of extra days next time. 5 stars all the way!

Suzanne and her family were the perfect guests, being timely and taking care of the property. I am very happy that their birding ventures turned out well both at the nearby provincial park and around our home. I hope to see Suzanne, John & Moira back in the next migration. Happy bird watching 😊
About the host
Hosted by David Brian
I am a newly retired high school principal who spent my entire career overseas in Hong Kong and China. My wife, son, and I have recently returned to Ontario, settling along the scenic shores of Lake Erie. Hosting on VRBO allows me to share the unique charm of our locality with guests from near and far, offering insights into the hidden gems of Chatham-Kent. I look forward to welcoming you and helping you discover all that our region has to offer.
Why they chose this property
The name "Antrim" is a tribute to the small hamlet that once existed at Big Creek, just 300 meters east of the property. In the early 1800s, the Irish Ruddle brothers began developing a village here, but by the 1830s, it was abandoned due to the silting of its small working harbor. This rich history, combined with the cottage’s location and its past role as part of a larger farmstead, makes Antrim Cottage a truly special place.
Since purchasing it in 1997, my family and friends have shared countless cherished moments here, and I hope you will too. Antrim is more than just a cottage—it’s a place of warmth, connection, and history. Our motto says it best: “The essence of a house is the friends who frequent it.”
