Imagine enjoying your Aspen/Snowmass vacation just minutes from each in a luxury Woody Creek home overlooking the Roaring Fork River! This beautiful house received a million dollar plus addition and renovations that were completed in 2014. In short, this home is essentially brand new!
It is owned by a couple of families who created their dream vacation home - and now you can enjoy it as well. The house features stone, barn wood and wide plank floors throughout. There is a lovely great room with a fireplace that steps down towards the river from the cozy breakfast nook. The modern, newly renovated kitchen opens onto the deck for grilling and enjoying the sights and sounds of the river. We offer a picnic table and hot tub on the deck and a fire pit suitable for making S'mores in the side yard.
This house offers TWO luxurious master bedrooms/bathrooms with decks overlooking the river as well as a third bedroom with king bed and its own bathroom. Bedroom four offers a queen bed and the fifth bedroom features two twin beds that are great for the kids. We have also added first-class amenities such as top of the line kitchen appliances, heated floors in the master baths, Comcast and Apple TV, Sonos sound system and a hard-piped humidification system to counter the drier mountain air.
There is a large fully finished basement playroom with TV/Cable, a ping pong table, shuffleboard, pop-a-shot, Foosball table, a full bathroom and even a "secret room" to keep children and/or adults entertained for hours. Imagine languishing for hours at a fun dinner with adults while the kids have a blast downstairs!
Our home is located in a great part of Woody Creek known as Little Texas which features a gorgeous grassed linear park on the riverbank suitable for family fun. And our section of the river - just steps away from our back door - offers some of the absolute best fly fishing in the Rockies.
We are only a few blocks from a favorite hang-out of locals and celebrities alike - the famous Woody Creek Tavern where you can also catch a free shuttle to or from Aspen or Snowmass.
Speaking of, we are less than 15 minutes from downtown Aspen or 10 minutes from the slopes of Snowmass. You can also reach Aspen via bike or on foot if you prefer to make use of the adjacent Rio Grande Trail along the riverfront. We even provide a number of various sized bikes for your convenience during the summer!
Come discover why Woody Creek is a local's favorite and enjoy our newly renovated retreat just minutes from the action of Aspen and Snowmass.

There are usually two sides to every story but since our guest didn’t tell hers I will refrain from telling ours.
I do feel compelled to respond to her one star rating by pointing out that our previous twenty ratings over the past several years include 19 five stars with just one four star. (And that four star really bums me out!)
Before that, our only substantive complaint amongst many other five star reviews was related to construction noises...from our neighbors house. (They finished building it in 2018 FYI).
I am truly sorry that this guest didn’t enjoy her weekend at our house but unfortunately have learned that I can’t please everyone. Especially if they are locked out because their child loses the front door key...and then continuously use the wrong area code when trying to call me about getting into the house. (Sorry, I tried to stay on the high road. I’m getting back on it now.)
I hope that if you are reading this you will read through the MANY comments and ratings from our previous guests and ultimately decide to give us and our house an opportunity to provide a similarly magical vacation experience for you. Please feel free to reach out with questions or concerns, and thanks for considering us.

Nice river front house
My family and I just returned from staying at this house outside of Aspen.
The house is right on the river and the yard area by the river is absolutely beautiful, as shown in the pictures. I spent several hours fly fishing on the river without much success but I did talk to a guide that was on the river outside the house and he said it was a good fishing area.
The house is about 15 min from Aspen and 8 min from Snowmass Village. The surrounding area and houses are all very nice and there is a great "local" restaurant/bar (woody creek tavern)within walking distance down the road. The house is an 7.5 on a scale of 1-10. Very livable but in need of some TLC, furniture, and paint. There is a ping pong table in the garage which provided hours of fun.
On our last night, we made a fire in the fire pit and made s'mores. It was a great time with the kids but apparently a BEAR could not resist the smell of cooking marshmallows . Luckily, after the fire and s'mores we were all in the house and heard some noises outside. Looking out of a window upstairs we watch a good sized bear destroy the "bear safe" trash can. I don't think the bear usually could have gotten the lid off but 1 of the 2 latches did not work.... Yes, you need a new "bear safe" trash can because he tore the lid up. If you stay here, keep the trash cans in the garage.
All-in-all, I would recommend staying here. We had a great family vacation and as long as you are not expecting the 5 start, you should be happy. If it is during the summer months, the Snowmass Rodeo on Wednesday nights is something not to miss!

We can't promise entertainment from the bear again but can assure you the house received TTLC...TONS of Tender Loving Care since you stayed with us.
Hope you come back to see us!
The house was very well appointed and extremely clean. We had more than enough room for our family of 13, 8 adults and 5 children between the ages of 10 & 13. The game room downstairs kept the children occupied and the outside area on the river was an ideal place to sit and relax.
It was clean but not freshly cleaned. It looked like it had been sitting for awhile since the last cleaning. Lots of dead bug and dust. Bathrooms on the second floor have not been updated. Over it was a good rental.
Don't be fooled by the average-looking exterior as this is a nice house on the inside. We had plenty of room for our party of 8 (though 2 had to leave 1/2 way through), and the interior is very comfortable with plenty of TVs and quality furniture. The location on the river is special. Although it was very high due to runoff (mid-June), I managed to catch a few fat rainbows in there. Hearing it at night is soothing. We were there during a hot period (85-90 most days), but if you keep the shades down to block the 3-6pm sun the house stays reasonably cool, and then is fine for sleeping as most nights are in mid-40s. The property manager Sarah was very helpful when had a minor problem. The kids (early 20s) enjoyed the finished basement with the game room. I recommend this place as a nice property at a reasonable price compared to other Aspen properties.
This property is an absolute gem! Was the perfect size (very spacious) for our group. There were so many places in the house to hang out in - each level has its own sofa + tv area. Kitchen and dining areas had ample space for everyone to sit down together to eat. The host was incredibly responsive. Location wise was also great - a very short drive to the mountains. Our group absolutely loved the hot tub after a long day of skiing. We would love to come back someday!
This house lived-up-to, and exceeded our expectations. We have four children (all in their 30's), married, significant others, and two grandchildren for a party of 12. The bedrooms worked out perfectly, the kitchen is well equipped, the family room with fireplace is large and cozy, and the dining table fit all of us for wonderful family dinners. The fun-filled basement was warm, and loaded with family entertainment activities. We spent some late nights having ping-pong tournaments. Our sons even brought fishing tackle and enjoyed catching (and releasing) trout in the world-class stream behind the house. The house location was perfect for getting to any Aspen mountain for skiing, and the Woody Creek Tavern (fun and a local favorite) is in easy walking distance. Lastly, the property manager (Sarah) was a complete pleasure to work with. We will most certainly be coming back again!
It was the perfect house for our needs. We were having a family reunion and there was plenty of space. The location on the roaring Fork River was amazing and there was easy access to great walking and biking trails.
My wife and I were there for 10 days with our daughter and two grandchildren age 3 and 6. The house is tailor made for that - it is right on the Roaring Fork with world class fishing as well as enormous fun for the grandkids and just a great place to hang out. The playroom downstairs was very well equipped, including a secret playroom the grandkids had so much fun with. It’s right on the Rio Grande trail on which I did a lot of cycling. It ‘s also very close to the Snowmass Recreation Center which had something for everyone - an amazing gym as well as a pool and two playgrounds for the kids.
Aspen is close by although traffic is an issue at certain times of the day. However there’s a back way into town we used a lot to get around that. It’s really an ideal location if you’re outdoor focused but also enjoy all the amenities that Aspen has to offer.
My only negative comment would be there were several things that didn’t work or needed to be fixed - nothing really major, but one of the two dryers didn’t work and the other worked so-so, two of the bedroom were missing screens, which was pretty important since there’s no central AC, and a couple of other minor things. There just needs to be an overall review and get all the little repairs done.
But overall everyone had a great time staying there.

Carl,
Thanks for the great review and the heads up on the details that needed some attention. We’ve gotten those taken care of and the owners will do a thorough inventory of the place and get things fixed up when they all head out in a couple of weeks.
Unfortunately we were so booked this summer that none of them were able to use the place and make sure everything was in tip top shape.
We look forward to hosting you and your family again!

This is a gorgeous location right on the Roaring Fork river and down the road from the Woody Creek Tavern and the Rio Grande bike trail. We loved it! Also Sarah was incredibly responsive to any questions and issues. Beautiful property!
Great time in Woody Creek once we got over the shock that the home wasn’t air conditioned !
Beautiful views of the flowing river but a long stairway down to the actual water. Great spot for games, fishing , and dreaming. 7 wonderful bedrooms and baths, and multiple living areas.
We absolutely loved this house right outside Aspen! It was perfect for 10 adults and a baby. There was plenty of room and the outdoor space was great. You can hear the river from some bedrooms and it’s incredibly peaceful. The house is fully stocked with everything you could need to cook, clean, and live in. Highly recommend!
Outstanding experience for all of us mothers and daughters due to the expansiveness of the home, the amenities, and location. Everything was perfect. What an amazing opportunity to enjoy this gorgeous home. Located right next to the Roaring Fork river we heard it running outside the windows while we slept. Though none of us fly fish, we could have. Our group enjoyed the short jaunt to Aspen for shopping and eating dinner. We also enjoyed a great hike to Hanging Lake in Glenwood Springs. The hot tub was the perfect ending to our day. This is an elegantly designed home for large or smaller groups.
We absolutely loved the house. Perfect for 12 people. 8 adults and 4 children.
Great house
Great location
Saw an elk from the patio, mule deer
Cooked in kitchen every night
Caught rainbows and browns right in front of house
Road e bikes and got margaritas right down the street at woody creek tavern
House is perfect location between aspen and basalt
We will come again!!!!!
Excellent location between Aspen and Basalt. Home is beautifully laid out w LOTS of room. Kitchen fully equipped with gear and several types of coffee makers.
Excellent sound system, comfy beds.
Hiking, fishing, and exploring opportunities nearby are endless.
Very large deck overlooking the our yard and river . The weather was beautiful so we ate outside each night.
Would highly recommend !!!!
Property was large and had everything we needed for 8 guys traveling to Aspen to run the golden leaf half marathon. Well maintained and we had a great time bbq on the deck. River right in the back yard. Only issue was use of the tv remotes, but not a big deal.
It's a pefect house for a large family or a few families with plenty of room for everyone. The patio furniture down by the river made a fantastic place to relax down by the river after a tough hike to crater lake. It's incredibly convenient to activities in Snowmass and Aspen but also secluded enough to enjoy some peace and quiet. There was some construction going on across the river but we barely noticed. We can't wait to visit again with our kids. It was pretty magical.

Beautiful location , very nice accomodations
Stay and trip was great. Tain and snowed on us so that changed our plans a bit. May is slowest month for Aspen area but still had a great time. Other than tv / apple remote we couldn't find and a confusing dishwasher, everything worked great. Would recommend and even stay here again.
