Fantastic getaway

Great time in Highlands KS. Very peaceful, loved watching the birds and fireflies on the porch. The owners did a lot of little things to make it a nice stay - signs for the light switches, good quality linens/towels, well stocked kitchen and tons of fun games. We will be back!!

Stayed here while visiting St Joseph. Scenic drive from St Joe's. Loved all of the extra touches. A treat upon arrival, sound machines in the bedrooms, toys for the children, coffee, condiments, spices, etc... Highly recommend and will book again when in the area! If you want to get it away from it all, this is your place. Relaxing, secluded, and cozy. Nice kitchen, living space and bedrooms. Close to Atchinson which has some really nice places to visit. Weston is loaded with history and 45 minutes away as well. Scenic Drive from Iowa Point to Atchinson HWY 7, is amazing.

Very beautiful house

Pictures don’t do this house justice. It was extremely clean and had a lot of cool upgrades. There were also snacks and games provided for the kids to enjoy. It is a very quite and neat area. You will not be disappointed staying here!

Booked for the elderly mother in law and her sisters. They loved it. Sorry, not much was retained when she told me about the place. Most son in laws understand how this happens. Thank gosh for beer and whiskey when they get a yappin!

Exactly what we needed

Two moms and their respective kids on a electronic detox weekend. Perfect amount of space to spread out, TONS of outside space for the kids to play and relaxing for the adults. The fresh baked treats upon arrival, the large coffee pod selection, super soft beds, extra info about things to do in the area.... it was all so wonderful! We all agreed we'll come back annually at least and hopefully more often. Also - there's a really neat cemetery dating back to the Civil War up the hill across from the house. And the One Horse Book Store in White Cloud is an absolute treat.

Perfect Get-Away to find solitude!

My husband and I needed a few days of quiet and solitude and Janet and her cottage were perfect in every way! The covered porch made for a wonderful spot to sit and enjoy the rain and the birds singing. The bed was so comfortable, the kitchen provided what I needed to cook (one of my ways to unwind), the fireplace was a great addition...Janet thought of everything. The property and the cottage exude peace...just what we needed!
