Even better than expected! Such a serene and calm escape. My husband and I feel completely recharged after our weekend here. Hard to believe it’s less than an hour from home, yet I felt more relaxed than at any fancy spa. We’ll definitely be back!
It was a great property with attentive on-site hosts. There were several riverside sitting areas where we were able to enjoy morning coffees and the location was right by several provincial parks, but close enough to be a short drive to grocery stores/the town center and about a 45 min drive to Vancouver. Would 100% stay there again.
We stayed here for three nights for our "minimoon" and it was the perfect combo of romantic getaway and space to deflate after our wedding! Our hosts were very sweet, had excellent communication, and generously invited us to check in early and check out late. The house was comfortable, clean, and well stocked. We loved having private access to the hot tub, morning coffees on the deck in the treetops, and chilling on the river with the provided inner tubes. We didn't end up using the fire pit or bbq but was nice to have the option. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend!
Stayed for 2 nights in July. The property grounds are gorgeous, hot tub is so relaxing. Unfortunately it rained so we were not able to enjoy all the beauty and privacy the property offers. Thank you Greg and Shelley
We had a great time. The 2 person jacuzzi was very relaxing, the bed was comfortable, the shower was hot, and the place was clean.
During the day or in the morning the path they made takes you to the river. It's a great view, very relaxing. Definitely worth the stay.
This idyllic location was amazing! The hosts were friendly and very helpful, and the property is slice of heaven. I was able to stay unplugged from work the entire time, although the great quality WiFi made it so we had access if need be. The bed was cozy and the hot tub was a fantastic way to wind down from our daily adventures.
Excellent and attentive hosts. Greeted upon arrival with umbrellas and all the details Had everything needed and more. Relaxing and such a treat - gorgeous property. Enjoyed every detail! Thanks Greg and Shelley.
Greg and Shelley were excellent hosts. Their property was beautiful and so much attention spent on the details, lit up pathways, outdoor seating, little surprises in the woods, and seconds away from Golden Ears Park. Highly recommend this property for a peaceful getaway!
We really enjoyed our stay. Such a wonderful place to relax! Greg & Shelley were so welcoming. Facilities were great, it was well equipped, & we loved the outside space. So many different places to sit & enjoy the wildlife, with the river flowing past. We cooked all our meals on the BBQ, and swam in the river. Golden Ears park is nearby, with plenty of hiking trails. We hope we will be able to return one day!
We hope we’ll return one day!
We were hoping for quiet, in nature and near water and that’s what we got. The property is as pretty in person and it is in the pictures lots of privacy. The room is very nice, full bathroom, comfy bed. The hosts are wonderful, gave great directions, loads of suggestions for things to do. Always willing to do more. I hope we get the chance to stay here again!
Lovely quaint stay in the woods but also close enough to town. Once we got there we didn't want to leave, a great escape from the city. Greg was great and made sure that we had everything that we needed. Will try and be back for the summer season when we can take full advantage of their amazing river walkways and patios.

Cozy cabin
The cabin was nice. The owner was okay at communication. Nothing really stuck out good or bad. You can hear the owner walking around as they are living above you. It seemed more secluded on the listing than it actually was. It was good but nothing special
My parents were visiting us from Ontario and I booked Shelly and Greg’s retreat for them as our house is too small to host family. The property is a beautiful oasis right beside Golden Ears Park. The many wood patios and deck areas were great to visit with my parents. The Alouette River runs directly beneath and the calming sound is so nice to relax. My parents Mary and Lloyd enjoyed the soft high bed and the hot tub and gardens. They used the kitchen for breakfast and lunch and BBQ on the patio of dinner. We enjoyed a family get together on deck and a swim in the river. Enchanting and charming gardens and surrounding forest. Shelly and Greg are incredible hosts and brought fresh blue berries and goodies for my parents. We will absolutely book with them again!
Our stay in the Glamping Suite was for 3 nights after disembarking a cruise in Vancouver. We were blown away the minute we walked around the area. The privacy of the private decking and BBQ area as well as having access to the further seating area across the river was more than expected. Being inside the suite is also private and gives you a beautiful feel of living in a cabin in outback Canada. You can make an open fire, have a BBQ and enjoy dipping in the water too. We used the hot tub as well which is a perfect size for two people. The surroundings make it feel so tranquil and relaxing after spending the day hiking in Golden Ears Park. The Glamping Suite is right at the start of the park and you can walk directly to the entrance and to the paths.
Greg and Shelley greeted us when we arrived and then after that were very easily contactable on messages, their response was immediate. They allow complete privacy and we never noticed them even though they are living just next-door. There was plenty of advice on where to walk, where to access groceries and local places to grab food and drink which was so helpful. I recommend a car if staying here which we had but the drive from Vancouver City is 50 minutes and beautiful scenery along the way. We found this was the perfect location for us but we didn't plan to spend any evenings in the main city of Vancouver. We only wish we could have stayed longer but we plan to be back!
Absolutely stunning property, incredibly relaxing. A nice dip in the river a soak in the hot tub was so good for the soul. The vines and flowers around the yard are phenomenal. The hosts truly thought of every extra touch to make our stay cozy and private. Sad to to leave, but thankful they shared their slice of heaven with us!
Booked this spot last minute for a one night solo spa time! It was easy to find and the hosts were friendly and easy to communicate with. Very beautiful, quiet and peaceful place. The room was clean and has everything you need, including a kitchenette, library of dvds and board games. Spent most of my time in the hot tub but also dipped in the river nearby. The river wasn’t too cold and the ground is very soft sand. Lots of shady trees and sitting areas throughout the property. I will definitely be back! Thank you :)
Very unique. Hosts were really nice and have created a great space with pretty much everything one needs. Riverside cocktails were a plus. A peaceful place.
