Black Wattle Coastal Retreat

Black Wattle Coastal Retreat is a modern house located on 22 acres of native bushland with
unsurpassed views of the coastline, ocean and horizon. Located around halfway between the
Bay of Fires and the Freycinet Peninsula. Sitting on the deck you will not have any other
person or house in sight; you are truly secluded within the mountain range below St Patricks
head and still only 3 minutes drive from the beach.

Remove yourself from life's busyness and breathe in the tranquility and peace that Black Wattle Coastal retreat offers. Stoke up the outdoor fire pit and pour a glass of wine and enjoy listening to the waves roll in while having the view completely to yourself. Too cold outside? Light the fire indoors and sit in a bean bag with a good book and enjoy the view through full glass frontage.

We can guarantee all our guests that our cleaners are adhering to government national disease control and cleaning standards following the spread of Covid-19. With all the chaos surrounding us at the moment it is still important to take time out, relax and have some adventures and Black Wattle Coastal Retreat is the perfect place to do this!

Four Mile Creek has one of the best beaches the East Coast of Tasmania has to offer. There's also bush walking and 2 minutes drive away there is a fresh water swimming hole (as pictured). Excellent fishing from the beach and creek.

The East Coast of Tasmania has some breathtaking scenery worth finding and there is much to do if you are up for some adventures. We are situated in front of St Patricks Head which is a great mountain to climb with amazing views of the whole area. There is a great restaurant with a micro brewery and vineyard only 5 minutes drive away. St Helens, Scamander, St Mary's and Bicheno are only short drives away with each town offering different shops, amenities and experiences. St Helens mountain bike trails are only 25 minutes drive away.
The East Coast drive is flanked with some of the worlds most beautiful beaches; you can choose a different beach to visit each day during your stay. Natureworld is only 20minutes drive away with a Wildlife park featuring native Tasmanian and Australian mammals, birds and reptiles. Your kids will be able to get up close to the wildlife and feed them - there is also a Tasmanian Devil display. Bicheno golf course is only 22 minutes drive away. Freycinet is a 45minute drive where there are more walks to do; including the world famous Wine Glass Bay. There are many vineyards along the east coast worth stopping in for a wine taste or something to eat as there are many with food on offer as well. Of course being situated so close to the ocean, fresh seafood is readily available wherever you roam along the coast line. We have designed a touring map that is displayed on the entrance wall so you can plan where you might like to visit during your stay at our property.

You will have access to all the amenities of our beautiful retreat; new fully equiped kitchen, coffee machine, TV, Bluetooth audio system and a great selection of games provided.
Fire place for a cozy winter break as you watch the ocean from the comfort curled up on the couch or bean bag. Heat pump/air conditioning unit to escape the hot sun during summertime.
Featuring three bedrooms; one with a queen bed - walk-through wardrobe and ensuite, the second a double bed and the third bedroom has 2 bunk beds enabling accommodation for up to 8 people. (9 including the portacot which is also available for use, please mention this when booking).
Although we offer 3 bedrooms and the house sleeps up to 8 - you will only have access to the beds you book. Please specify when booking what bed configuration you would like for you and your guests so we have the appropriate beds made up for your stay.
High chair available for use - along with kids toys and books.
Washing machine; including ironing facilities.
Outdoor deck with WeberQ BBQ and outdoor dining setting.
As we are set on 22 acres without neighbours in sight, we have a security camera at the main entrance of the property for your safety and so we can monitor the property when no one is there.

Located 20 minutes from St Helens, Bicheno and St Mary's, 10 minutes from Scamander and only 5 minutes to a local Brewery and restaurant - there are plenty of options and amenities near by. 45 minutes drive to the famous Freycinet National park. 1.5 hours drive from Launceston and just under 3 hours from Hobart.

No pets allowed on this property. Anything found damaged to property or contents will lead to an extra charge being applied.
