About this property

Valley View Retreat (baby & child friendly)

Welcome to Moose Jaw's hidden gem - Wakamow Valley. Your home is in Moose Jaw, but right on the edge of the historic valley facing South. Filled with plenty of soft sunlight and open skies. Peaceful and cozy, this home is newly renovated with every detail thought through.

For baby/ kid supplies, please scroll down...

THE SPACE
A unique home on a quiet street. The back yard faces Wakamow Valley with big open skies visible from outside and in, you can view Saskatchewan's stunning sunrises/sunsets (and may even notice a few deer passing through or sleeping in the yard).
If you're lucky, you could have a private air show from the Snowbirds as they love practising over the valley! Star gazing, storm watching and northern lights viewing encouraged!

This home has been renovated specifically for you - my guests to have a relaxing and calming experience. You'll find a fully stocked kitchen with everything you need to cook and make meals from home including spices and pantry basics.

FEAURED LOCAL ARTISTS:
This past year I have set up a mini shop inside the home that features a few potters and artists from around the city and Valley. It runs on the honour system and is a great way to gift yourself or friends and family! Wrapping paper and supplies provided.

BABY FRIENDLY EQUIPMENT / SUPPLIES PROVIDED:
High chair, baby cups, plates, utensils, bibs, baby gate, Pack n play crib, change table with diaper wipes and diaper cream, small garbage bags for diaper disposal, various toys and building blocks, books for all developmental ages, portable baby bath tub, baby shampoo and wash, bath toys, baby towels and wash cloths.
If there is anything you are wondering about or needing for your littles please reach out and I will do my best to provide it during your stay!

**FOR BOOKINGS WITH 5 GUESTS**
The main floor bedroom room can also comfortably fit a highly quality queen size inflatable mattress to sleep 1-2 more if need be. This is an excellent choice for families with children. Please note it is an additional $50 for this set up.

GUEST ACCESS:
Private entrance. Private driveway and carport. Plenty of free on street parking as well.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE:
Once two separate homes, they were combined in the 1980's and expanded. Since purchasing this home in 2020, we have turned it into a duplex. Your home will be one side, with one shared wall. Our homes are completely separate with their own entrances etc. There is no access to either homes from the inside. The yard is shared but guests have multiple seating areas outside to choose from.

Feel free to explore the 2.5 lot and enjoy the garden in the summer months. There will always be wood chopped and ready for a bonfire, no matter the season :)

About the host

Host profile image
Hey! I'm Gemma.

The pandemic gave me somewhat of a pre-mid life crisis (anyone else?!) and long story short I found myself jobless and renovating half of our home... Since then I have absolutely fallen in love with this job and have 2 properties for my guests to stay at!
I love meeting new people and designing spaces to make guests feel comfortable, relaxed and right at home.

To my guests: Thank you! I'm so grateful that I have been given this opportunity and appreciate every one of your bookings. I know I'm biased, but I really think I host the best of the best. Your stories, kindness, business and feedback mean the world to me.

If you have any questions at all please reach out and ask!

Why they chose this property

Two words: Hidden Gem. Wakamow Valley has been my favourite part of Moose Jaw for many many years and I couldn't believe when a house went up for sale overlooking the valley. It provides year round scenery, outdoor activities and wildlife watching.
Our block is quiet and understated. Only locals use it and dog walkers from the valley.

What makes this property unique

The view, the open sky, the sunlight.
My husband and I purchased this home in 2020 with the mindset of "slowly but surely".
Our nightly price reflects the work still needing to be done on the property.
