Great spot for the whole family. Views of the lake by the cozy fire meant we were never sad when the weather wasn't behaving. One of the most responsive hosts I have ever dealt with.

Thanks so much for your kind review.
It's tough when the weather doesn't cooperate especially with small children. Sitting around the fire playing games is always fun and we have lots of options.
Great place and we have lots of fun for the winter break

Thank you for your kind review. It has been a great winter for snowmobile trails, ice fishing, skiing and tobogganing. So glad to see you took advantage of these wonderful conditions. Thanks for the snowman you built at the end of the driveway. 😊
Our stay was so serene and peaceful. Idle house has a beautiful view of the lake and there were lots of areas to sit outside. We loved the dock and screened in patio. We saw butterflies, ducks and deer. The kitchen was well equipped with utensils, and there was a good selection of basics (oil, spices) that helped. It was very quiet (which was great for us) and close to town. The bedrooms were comfortable, we brought our own sheets/towels but the quilts are provided. There was a small beach just a quick walk down the road, but it was also easy to walk into the water beside the dock. The dock was lovely, and the sun hit early in the morning and later in the afternoon, which is perfect for hot days. Steve was very responsive and gave excellent directions to find the Idle house, and was very inclined to ensure we enjoyed our stay!

Thank you Chris, it is the perfect time of year for peace and quiet. The fresh snow is beautiful in the tree's and perfect for a nice walk, cross country ski or skate on the ice. It's so nice to sit in front of the cozy fire and play board games, chess, do a puzzle or just relax with your family and friends.
The view is incredible. The cottage is charming, especially when the wood fireplace is roaring. There were lots of games to play, the kitchen is well stocked with all the utensils and pots and pans. Steve was great to communicate with. Bring hand towels and as well as bath towels.

The perfect family winter getaway at your rustic and cozy cottage. It was incredibly relaxing and peaceful, with beautiful views in every direction and the joy of seeing wildlife. We enjoyed so many wonderful winter activities—sledding on the local trails and lakes, skating at Arrowhead, ice fishing, and taking in the stunning scenery. Evenings were spent by cozy fires and enjoying family game nights, all while having the comforts of home. We were lucky to have great weather and truly cherished every moment. Thank you Eva for your stay. We also enjoy going for a nice walk or taking a short drive to Algonquin or Arrowhead. Looks like you got to watch the ice go out.
This lovely property sits in the perfect spot close to Huntsville and close to the West entrance of Algonquin park. Everything was in good repair, the beds comfortable, and the setting in the forest with an easy walk down a few steps to the private dock was just right. Very enjoyable.

So glad you enjoyed your peaceful stay, we would love to have you back!
We have been coming here for years and it always feels like coming home! We especially love to sit on the screened porch and play games. The dock is great and there is always some shade for those of us who burn. This year there were paddleboards and the "kids" (who are all 30 something) had a blast!
