It was a beautiful time of the year to visit. We loved the location to bike rentals, coffee, shopping and everything Damascus had to offer. The property was situated perfectly. Our family had a great time!
This property was perfect for our needs and a great location in town! Close to the bike trail and park area! We spent most nights enjoying tne front porch area! Would definitely go back!
House has been divided into 3 rental rental units but we had plenty of space and each us a separate entrance. Nice property and great location

Great location, comfortable house
You can walk out the door and be on the AT. It literally runs in front of the house. This is the place for hiking and biking. Very centrally located for many wonderful hikes in NC, TN and Virginia.
Damascus to Abingdon and back on the Virginia Creeper
We enjoyed our bicycle riding on the Virginia Creeper. Fortunately we rode in the mornings because the late afternoon was stormy with lots of rain. Unit 2 was spacious enough for us to spread out and relax.
What a great stay, lots to do. Trout fishing, hiking, biking what else to ask for. We brought our dog/kids who love walking in the woods. Everything you need is in walking distance from the house. Owner was quick to respond to any questions/problems we had.
Great stay, great area lots to do if you like the outdoors.
Thank you so much
We enjoyed sitting on the front porch of this lazy little country town. We did not realize it had more than one unit until after we finalized the reservation but luckily only one other unit had occupants, the last night. We walked to Damascus Old Mill for dinner (yummy-table over the river) and Blue Blazes bike rental is directly across the street if you are riding the Creeper Trail. We would go back again.

Didn't want to leave!
We (2 adult couples) traveled to Damascus for a weekend of Creeper Trail bike riding and AT hiking. Our apartment was clean, spacious, comfortable and well equipped (we did need more wine glasses though!). We had a problem at check-in and Anya, the manager, was "on it" and took care of the situtation immediately to our satisfaction. And, the apartment is right on "the strip," so it is very convenient, but, a little loud. It didn't stop us from enjoying the apartment and our weekend. Would definitely stay there again.
Great weekend, able to walk everywhere. Bike rental right across street and beautiful Park around the corner. Old Mill restaurant behind the house. I did not realize the house was 3 different places to stay. I loved the 2 bdrm/1bath but would have enjoyed the 2 bdrm/2 bath even more. Beds comfortable and sheets soft!!! Kitchen small but I didn’t cook. . We sat on porch with a nice glass of wine and enjoyed people watching. Breakfast at Damascus Diner both days. Superb. Enjoyed Old Mill for the falls , nice cocktails & beer, good burgers. We will stay here again.
I only look for pet friendly places and this was supposed to be one, according to my search. Then I got the check in instructions about a week ahead of check in and that said no pets allowed. I went round and round with Evolve, which VRBO shunted me to - finally said I wouldn’t bring my dog. 2 days before we left, got my final bill on which it said “pets - yes” and charged me a $65.00 pet fee!!! We ended up taking our pet with a printed version of the invoice in case there were any questions.
Overall once we got there our experience was good- place was extremely clean and location was great. Property manager was wonderful and very responsive to us.
I would just never use Evolve again because of their inconsistent messaging and their overall lack of responsiveness when I tried to get an answer out of them about the pet friendly status - then, what they told me was inaccurate and they charged me a pet fee. I only got a response when I threatened to challenge the rental charge with our credit card company.
So - good property experience - bad corporate management experience.
