Amenities were great… waterfront wasn’t as kid friendly as I would’ve liked but all the extra’s like kids toys and games and play structure made up for it, in my eyes…
Well positonned property with all amenities available. Only feedback would be to fix the deck and remove broken items - such as the Adirondack chairs and swing.
We had a wonderful stay, the house had everything we needed for our large family and the grounds were so comfortable and fun. The views of the river are outstanding, and exploring the river was a dream. I highly recommend staying here.

We were dissapointed with the state of the land as the pictures on the listing seem to be from 5 to 10 years ago. The outdoor furniture is very old and worn down compared to the picture. The access to the water is very unpractical and very steep... it did not seem like such a high drop on the pictures but its about a 30-50 foot drop to the water. It was difficult to treck down the dirt slope to get to the dock. And it was impossible for us to get the paddle boat down there... The cottage was all in all good, just very dissapointed about the outdoor.
The thing we enjoyed the most about this property was the deck in the evening. The deck faces the river and we found it quite enjoyable to watch the boats going by. The river is not very large at this point which makes it a calm and swimable. On the weekends the boating traffic can be fairly substantial but it subsides in the late evening and at night the area is very quiet. The house was clean and well kept and had all the amenities listed. This property is also located in a very beautiful area. Close to town and close to a few beaches such as lac echo and site de la plage at poisson blanc if swimming off the dock is not your thing. The paddle boat unfortunately was broken, the paddles for the canoe were in very bad shape and the row boat which had been listed in the amenities list and sported in the picture is broken and totally not functional. The host was advised and he noted that he would remedy the situation right away so the next visitors should not have those problems. Still, it was a disappointment for the family not to have been able to be out on the water as expected.

Hi Elena!
Thank you for your feedback. I can tell you that as of less than 24 hours after your check-out there is a new paddle boat available for all of the guests. Unfortunately I only found out about it after you checked out (at night) and the previous guest didn't mention anything. That same guest broke the canoe paddles and didn't say a word. They have been replaced as well.
Unfortunately, these things happen with guests but I do wish it's brought to my attention so that I can rectify the situation as quickly as possible.
As for the row boat, it wasn't part of the amenities but it was part of the profile picture. Last year when tornado ripped through the area, the boat got damaged and was replaced quickly with a kayak as clients have been asking for it.
While no one is perfect, I try my best to rectify any situation that might come up. Unfortunately if I don't know about it I can't do anything. My cleaner always does a great job on analyzing everything and bringing it quickly to my attention. Hope this help and hopefully I am able to host you again in the future!
Thank you!
We recently stayed at this chalet and had a mixed experience. Starting with the positives: this would be an incredible place in the summer! The view is stunning, with a peaceful lake, private dock, and serene forest surroundings. The large lot is perfect for families, offering trails and plenty of outdoor games and activities for kids and adults alike. It’s truly a picturesque and relaxing retreat. However, our winter stay came with some challenges. Being a country chalet that isn’t lived in full-time, mice were an issue. While we understand this is almost unavoidable in rural settings, the mice were particularly active at night, especially in the basement, and their noise disrupted sleep for those staying there.Additionally, we rented this chalet specifically because the listing said it had a hot tub, but there wasn’t one. This was a major letdown, as we passed on other properties for this feature, and it significantly impacted our stay. Soaking in a hot tub after winter activities was something we’d all been looking forward to, so its absence was disappointing. On a positive note, the host, Abe, was very kind and quick to respond. He acknowledged the mistake about the listing and offered a resolution, which we appreciated. Despite the challenges, the chalet’s setting is stunning, and it would be an amazing spot for a summer getaway. Future renters may want to confirm all amenities beforehand to avoid similar issues

About the host
Hosted by Abe Mass
I find myself (and hopefully others do as well) to be a loving individual open to anything people are willing to share, easily entertained by other people’s passions and endeavours. I do what I can to be the best person that I can be, especially when it comes to being so about life and travel. I am a firm believer in living life to the fullest, and find I do this best when I am traveling or helping others out in any way that I can.
Passion is what drives any human being, and passion is what keeps you going in the best of times, so for me to be able to share that with someone is a true connection for me.
I absolutely adore traveling and make sure to do one big destination yearly. I mean, why else would I be here? Among that, I love music (it makes the world go round), art and cultural conversation over a cup of coffee. I am really into photography and love to show my photos of my travels, I find it amazing to be able to share a perspective that someone else might not see by merely taking a photo of it. Reading (autobiography) is and always has been a favourite past time as well; anything that allows me to get lost in another world.
In all my travels, it has allowed me to meet and share experiences with locals (without a doubt, one of my favourite conversation topics). Different perspectives of life intrigue me, and I can’t hold myself back from asking questions about it, so the topic comes up no matter who you are. The best experiences (which to be honest, has been all of them), were those where I felt the most comfortable and welcome in someone’s home. You know, when they give you a key and tell you to help yourself to anything? The people who introduce you to their friends and invite you to do anything with them whether it be your idea or theirs? Basically making their home truly feel like it is my home away from home, and like I am a friend over just another guest.
