The Washington Park room, located on the second floor in the Ludlow House, has Boho décor inspired by the exquisite colors of the room’s stained-glass windows and stained-glass hanging lamp. It is equipped with a queen-size bed and the en-suite has a lavish walk-in shower. It is located in Summit Street Inns, located in the historic West End neighborhood, which is comprised of the Ludlow and Sheppard houses, both historic architectural masterpieces.

Summit Street Inns was extensively restored to the highest historic standards from 2020-2023. It is now open to the public, boasting of 10 well-appointed overnight guest rooms and over-the-top bathroom accommodations exceeding any industry standard for luxury and comfort. The property features beautiful gardens, comfortable outdoor living spaces, event space and on-site parking. There is a billiards room and parlor, as well. All guests at Summit Street Inns also have the option of enjoying a complimentary breakfast at Founders Restaurant, just a mile away.

College tour visit to Winston Salem

My daughter and I stayed at Summit Street Inn for a weekend of college touring and getting to know Winston Salem. This inn is beautiful and clean, conveniently located at the “end” of downtown. We felt safe and walked to dinner and other outings. The home is well maintained with a mix of old (original creeky floors) and new (bathrooms) and lovely gardens! We will be back!
