The Waterhouse House was built in 1913 by the Vories Partnership and housed the family of PB Waterhouse an American who worked with WM Vories in Christian missionary work in Omihachiman City at the time

After meeting WM Vories who was based in Omihachiman as a Christian missionary Waterhouse was inspired by his personality and work and decided to support him To commemorate the Waterhouse familys missionary work the building is now known as the Waterhouse Memorial Hall

Approximately 100 years after its construction the house had begun to show signs of wear and tear but in June 2008 the Omi Brotherhood Foundation undertook a full restoration and the house was registered as a National Tangible Cultural Property In 2023 efforts were launched to preserve and preserve the building through its use as a lodging facility and other facilities

Currently the first floor of the building is home to Merrells Garden Cafe which serves dishes and desserts made using recipe / Exclusive Rent of the Second Floor for One Group Only
The second floor of the building can be reserved exclusively for one group per day The facility is equipped with tableware cutlery a microwave refrigeratorfreezer sink and other amenities allowing you to relax and enjoy a relaxing stay with your family or close friends

歴史ある建物ですが丁寧にメンテされていて管理も行き届いてました

歴史ある建物ですが丁寧にメンテされていて管理も行き届いてました。部屋も雰囲気があるし、水回りも清潔。 ゆったりした部屋で心地よく過ごすことができました。貸切なので気を遣うこともなく、安全面でも不安はありませんでした。スタッフの方も親切で丁寧。行き届いた心配りでした。友人たちと思い出になる旅ができました。ありがとうございました。
