Summer vacation

I rented this cottage with my husbabd and 2 teenagers. Cottage is huge and has everything you need. Water access is good for swimmingfor little kids. Big kids need to go further for deeper water. The hill to get down to water is a little steep and not flip flop friendly. Lots of sun on deck in the mornings. Town is close short boat ride to marina. Host was excellent and welcoming. There are 2 cottages on property the rental and the owner and they are fairly close.

Lakeside cottage

The cottage was wonderful; spacious, clean, well-stocked with a wall of windows overlooking the large deck and the lake. We couldn't ask for a nicer place. We spent afternoons in or on the water; swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking, canoeing, fishing. Lots to do and lots of space to do it.The only downside was the bugs, specifically deer flies. While we could put on clothing and bug repellant to keep the hordes at bay, we couldn't find a way to keep our dogs safe from the relentless attacks. Because of the bugs, we ended up doing fewer hikes and other outdoor activities than we originally planned.A great cottage, but be prepared for the outdoor bugs.

Perfect getaway, amazing lake!

Our host Mark gave us a friendly greeting upon our arrival and made himself available for any questions. We absolutely loved our time kayaking on the lake, it was so big, yet really calm. We made it onto the water every single day. The lake was really warm. Entry was sandy bottom, a few feet out was underwater grasses that could be easily avoided by swimming over it, to the floating dock. We met Mark's mother who was staying at the cottage next door she was an absolutely lovely lady. The cottage was spotless, and had everything we needed. The view of the lake through the trees from the 2nd story deck was magical. Special treat was the local maple syrup we were able to purchase from 3 doors down. We got to experience a trip down memory lane listening to the vinyl collection. The kids loved playing with the Ping Pong Table, and in the Tree House (complete with a draw bridge). Would definitely recommend and stay again!
