4/10 Poor

Adequate but basic
If you need anything on holiday - take it with you! We knew we needed to take sheets, pillow slips and towels but we did expect there to be basics like tea towels. There were no cleaning cloths or cleaning products so I went out and bought them, rather than pay 30 euros for cleaning. There was also no washing up liquid and only one toilet roll (and, of course, no kettle).
I had enquired before we left home about the size of the duvets as we had to supply our own bedding but my French is not very good and Madame has no English so we had a slight misunderstanding - there are no duvets. There are two single beds that are pushed together to make a double so, be warned, your bottom sheet needs to be extra large or take two singles as two single beds are bigger than a kingsize. And the same goes for the top sheet. There were plenty of blankets, however, two bolsters and two square pillows. (Fortunately I had anticipated the difference between the size of English pillows and French so we took our own pillows.)
There was also no local information in the gite. We normally find maps and information on places of interest are supplied as well as bus or train timetables, numbers for local taxies, the whereabouts of supermarkets, where you can buy bread and when market day is but there was nothing. This meant we found the lack of Wifi even more frustrating (despite it being listed in the advert). Also there were no books or games which, although this did not bother us, are normally supplied. We knew we were not going to be able to watch much TV as it was only French channel but there was no CD or DVD player either.
And finally the shower head does not fit in the holder so you have to hold it which makes hair washing a bit tricky.
On the plus side, Madame was very pleasant, there was secure parking and the house was only a short walk from the town - which is amazing!
