Nestled in a basin of mountains, rivers and ocean, The Saw Mill is a remote, rustic, historic home amidst the Cape Breton Highlands National Park.
Built in 1867, it is the second oldest house in Pleasant Bay and has been many different things to the community throughout the years, including: a post office, a general store, one of the first school teachers and of course, a sawmill.
A winding trail from the house leads you directly to Red River Beach, a public beach with ocean and river access.
