Wonderful location with access to the beach. Hot tub made for relaxing evenings, and being able to bring the dogs was the cherry on top. Highly recommend this cute place!

Overall, our experience here was awesome this house reminds me of the place. I grew up in as I’m getting older. Seems to walk down to the beach. It’s getting harder for me through the path specially with the stairs being gone love this place.

Love the stay

This is a great place to book if you want to be right on the beach. The path down is kinda tricky but just climb down some rocks and once out there it is beautiful. Also loved the fully fenced backyard because we brought our dog and it was nice to have her run around without the worry of her getting out.

The Home was very well equipped, and cozy, and the hot tub was great.Right across the street was the pathway/staircase to the beach. However, the staircase was recently washed away, so there was a rope and some boulders to climb down that was too dangerous for me, but my husband and grandson are more fit and went that route, although I wouldn’t recommend it. For me it was in the car driving a short hop south to Governors Beach, which had an easy access, restrooms, etc. but you need a 10 park day pass for parking. There were probably other easy free beaches around though. Not e the Waldport beaches are covered with driftwood.Also there was a Hilltop Restaurant menu in the home and we found their food to be just as good as the Drift Inn in Yachats, which was 6 miles south, a 35 minute wait and about 10 more for same entree. We were pleasantly surprised, as Hilltop is probably less than a mile north and the food was delicious! We did take out,

I’m sorry the beach pathway was cause for concern. We do share in the guest portal that the beach access has been impacted by recent storms and king tides. Although it is still accessible, it might not be safe for those with mobility issues and can be somewhat treacherous. I'm glad you found Governor's to your liking and thank you for the tip that we can do more to share the free beach access options nearby. We will absolutely work on doing just that. We hope you'll consider returning to visit again!

I have to start with how fantastic it was to communicate with Meredith Lodging. They were responsive, helpful, and friendly. Unfortunately the refrigerator was not keeping a cold temperature so we couldn’t use it. They did send someone out as quickly as they could but it didn’t resolve the issue. Fortunately we had a cooler to keep our stuff cold. They offered to bring maintenance out again but we chose not to so we could proceed with our vacation and not worry about maintenance coming. The home was clean but had a bit of an odor. Granted it is an older home that allows dogs so that may have had something to do with it. The home for our needs and the backyard was great for our little doggies. The kitchen has all the needed items for cooking and eating. The walk to the beach was SO CLOSE to the home but please be aware if you have any height or mobility issues you will NOT be able to get down there. The full set of stairs was destroyed so you have to go down the side of the hill via boulders. However, once you are down there on the sand it is AMAZING. So peaceful and hardly anyone out there. You can walk along the ocean or the river or both!

Website is misleading. Outside appearance hardly looks like the same house. There is no ocean view. The pictures say one thing and the printed information another. (Queen bed versus bunk beds). Booked according to the pictures and then found out about the bunk beds. We were two elderly couples. The deck and step posts need some serious upkeed.

The property's location and accommodations were highly satisfactory, offering ample amenities to ensure a comfortable stay. 2nd Visit to this Property

2 Compelling reasons for returning* fenced back yard for easy managing of our dog* close proximity to beach and good restaurantContinue to love and appreciate this space and, upgrading of some furniture and stuff in living room needed at some point. Steps up to the deck getting a tad rickety as well…The one complaint - repeated experience from last visit - is that the host provided the wrong lockbox code. Again. Need to call Meredith Lodging local office who provided a different code and it worked. Would be really great if that can be handled!

Little disappointed for the cost

Very beachy. No beach view. Peek aboo on the ocean. A few things need attention. The CO2 alarm was beeping and we couldn't stop it. Terrified our dogs. We put it outside. Then one of the smoke alarms went off. In tracking it down we discovered one alarm with no battery. Contacted manager. No response. The front door handle is very loose. All the other items contribute to be achiness. We never used the hot tub or the second bedroom. Very well stocked.

This was by far one of the worst places we have ever attempted to stay. The one night we did end up staying it caused us both to have trouble breathing for a day do to the mold and mildew smell as well as the main bedroom roof falling in. The smoke detector went off all night long every 30 seconds. We sent a picture of the electrical issues in the front room and only told sorry. We did not stay the 3 nights we paid for only the first night. In my opinion it should not be rented out to anyone until the electrical, smell of mold and mildew is addressed, so strong it made us cough and have stuffed up noses with only a 12 hour overnight stay. The staff was fully aware as we called 4 or 5 times advising. When told we were leaving and not staying the entirety of our paid for stay was only advised they would mark it as left early. Also I feel strongly we should have gotten at least half or really all of our money back. This home should not be rented as it is a liability and a danger.

Biggest Check-in and Check-out Process chaos ever!

Wonderful property! Enjoyed closeness to beach and closed in back yard giving the pup a free run. First time ever in a rental like this with no hair dryer! Had to borrow one from a friend in Newport. The biggest problem was checking in and checking out. Data arrived late and when in iffy wifi could not access the check-in information upon arrival. Reality is that the app sucks when no cell or wifi reception therefor check in info should be available PRIOR to leaving home! Several phone calls and 90minutes after arrival, finally had check in code. Except, could not get code to work. When it finally worked, we opted to use the key for the rest of our stay. Upon check out, same thing happened. Code did not close lock box! Thanks to Meredith Lodging, after a long call to them, who agreed for us to leave the key in the house and door open since the cleaners were on their way. We would love to come back to this cottage, but not until we are assured that we can get in!

Great house and beach access; poor communication and a sliver of ocean view

This is a wonderful little cottage with an extremely well stocked kitchen, working hot tub, great beach access, and a cozy setting. Unfortunately the "ocean view" marketing works to its detriment; there is only a sliver of ocean visible as you walk from bedroom to kitchen. This filter should be removed so that people know what to expect. And the property management company did not communicate well. They did not respond to a question (for three weeks) and then when I asked a second time, they answered a different question! I had asked for a late check out, and they responded "no" to an early arrival (AFTER we had already arrived). This showed a total lack of attention to the customer's needs/requests. Thank goodness we didn't have a real problem while we were there. I rent ALOT in this area and have had very positive interactions with many hosts and companies. I will definitely not rent from a property managed by Meredith Lodging again. But it's a great house with perfect beach access and priced reasonably. If it were advertised accurately and managed by a responsive company, I would have been very satisfied.
