Summary:
Welcome Cottage is a calm, design-led hideaway in leafy Surfdale, made up of a one-bedroom main cottage plus a separate sleepout. With a private cedar spa pool, barrel sauna, outdoor fire, and generous garden spaces, it’s a relaxed two-bedroom setup ideal for couples, friends, or small groups wanting privacy, comfort, and easy access to village life.
The Space:
Welcome Cottage is calm, compact, and thoughtfully designed, with outdoor living playing a central role in how the property is used. Timber textures, simple finishes, and a relaxed layout give the cottage a settled, grounded feel that suits slower stays.
The accommodation is clearly arranged as two sleeping spaces located just a few metres apart. The main cottage contains the living space and primary bedroom, while the separate sleepout sits nearby within the garden, making it easy for guests to move between the two while still enjoying privacy.
Inside the main cottage, the living space brings together a cosy sitting area and dining nook alongside a kitchenette suited to simple meals. The queen bedroom is within the same building, along with a modern indoor bathroom. A heat pump keeps the space comfortable year-round, and the cottage sits closely connected to the surrounding outdoor areas.
The sleepout is positioned only a short walk from the main cottage and provides a quiet, timber-lined bedroom with a queen bed and garden outlook. Guests staying in the sleepout have access to a dedicated outdoor bathroom, with the option to also use the main cottage bathroom if preferred.
Outdoor spaces are an important part of the experience. The cedar spa pool, barrel sauna, outdoor fire, dining deck, and garden areas sit close together, allowing guests to move easily between soaking, dining, and relaxing throughout the day.
