“ Country road take me home ….to the place I belong” – John Denver
Welcome to our country home, where we take you back in simpler times( along with all the modern amenities). In a time and place when every day lunches were picnics, when having a good time meant finding a seashell in the river or finding wild berries, where wild flowers grew abundantly. Where sitting by the fire pit every evening was better than watching TV. When there was time to read a book and sitting in quiet contemplation was more healing and rewarding than any therapy in the world. Where the pace of everyday life was leisurely and soaking under the stars was a necessity. When there was time to celebrate family, friends and traditions! Where the noise and the hum drum of the outside world seized to exist… Come home to the place you belong!
Please Note: Hot tub is currently under repairs and is not working. The prices are already updated to reflect this. Thanks for your understanding.

Our stay was fine, and we had everything we needed, but the accommodations felt run-down. Just not very nice. The living room furniture isn’t comfortable, so not relaxing. The rooms have individual floor unit air conditioners with big wide, long tubes going out the windows. One of units leaked a lot of water on the floor. Broken camping chairs left on the deck. Strange makeshift TV stand in main floor bedroom with chair legs and pieces of wood attached to the table legs to raise the stand to a higher height. The same bedroom had a mess of children’s items stacked haphazardly at one end. The house smelled musty when we arrived but was fine after we opened the sliding doors to air the house out. We were disappointed the hot tub was broken, but the host emailed me ahead of time to let me know and give me the option to cancel. There is a nice big back yard. We would not stay there again.

I believe in simple living, and my biggest fantasy is to time travel to the past when things were not as complicated and fast as current times. I guess that's what reflects in the cottage, my vision of a simple, uncomplicated life with an understanding that we cannot completely cut off from the present, but can at least pretend to go back if not forever, but for sometime.
Why they chose this property
The best part about this neighborhood, is the peace, tranquility, open space in and outside the house and closeness to nature. IN spite of it having all the perks of the countryside, it still has all modern amenities like high speed internet, a big city only 8 mins away with its grocery stores, restaurants and coffee places, shopping , international level hockey arena, etc. It's like enjoying the best of both worlds.
What makes this property unique
The space has been painstakingly and lovingly decorated with handpicked artifacts, paintings, furniture to achieve the look and feel from a bygone era. Even the pots and pans are vintage Corell/ Vision glassware that are super expensive to buy now and are a rare find. The furniture is mainly real wood, and with some antique pieces like the hutches in the dining area made by a prestigious and master woodcrafters. We had been working towards this vision for over 10 years and had been collecting things ever since then. At the same time we do understand the need for having modern amenities, like a high speed internet (1.5GB), Smart enabled TV etc.
